"Come on Draggy, Draggy, almost there." I encourage the big baby, it's weird to think of something so large as so young.
The steps are tricky and it's already a struggle to get it to move the right way, especially since it didn't wanna go without the other creatures.
A creaking sound makes my blood run cold, i push harder at the thick lizard hide but it's not enough and the ancient stairs give out beneath us. The winged beast jumps away but I'm stuck in the cascade.
Pain shoots up my leg and i scream in response. It's blinding for an unknown amount of time. Panting, i try to push the splintered wood away and gather my thoughts. Broken bones are unlikely, my kind general doesn't suffer that particular issue but then i've been out of my world and there are other possibilities... Deciding to just admit that i don't know, i give up for a moment to rest.
The feeling of the world tilting alerts me that I'm about to pass out. Groaning, i drag myself a little and look for the Dragon. They're sniffing at the portal.
"That's it, good Draggy!" I tell them and they glance back.
With a reptilian grin, they turn to the dark wall and dive for home.
