I remember drowning. The cold water feeling like ice on my skin, yet my lungs and chest burned like fire. I remember opening my eyes to see the suns rays shining through the water, it's gold glow like a tamed fire. Bubbles rose and the light would catch on them, igniting them like lots of stars. I sank deeper till the light faded and I was left in darkness. Nothing but the sound of my heart. It's rampant beating slowing, second by second, drop by drop as these drops filled my lungs. Finally, my eyes had closed and I hit the bottom of the lake, the last thump of my heart, finishing.
