Que hugged Jess to his body as he sobbed into her neck, rocking it gently.

"Jess please! Don't leave!"

He pulled away and stroked her cheek softly, tears flowing like the rain down his cheeks.

"I love you..."

He closed his eyes and hugged her back to his chest, cradling her, never letting go again. The world became a blur to him, he remembered a man with blue hair saved them, in a truck, had taken them to his house, but all that mattered was Jess was in a coma. He refused to let them take her to hospital, keeping the promise he made to her long ago. He sat at her bed every day, holding her pale, delicate fingers. The days were a blur. He rarely ate, he never spoke, he barely ate. His only task was to sit and wait, to be there when she woke. To make sure he can tell her he loves her before he looses her again,to be her guardian and make sure nothing ever happened to her again. She was all that mattered to him. The doctor that Jess saved was no ordinary man, he was the autobots medic. The truck and the man with blue hair was Optimus prime. But they would never let Que know. Their only priority was to look after the two kids. Optimus never left the house, he felt responsible for what had happened and took it upon himself to look after the boy as he looked after Jess. He made sure Que ate enough to stay healthy and when Que passed out from lack of sleep he covered him with a blanket. Again, as Optimus walked into the room and laid a blanket over the sleeping Que he quietly sat on the bed and looked at Jess. He always took time to speak to her, or to just be there and watch over her when Que couldn't.

After three months, finally, there was a sign Jess was waking.
