Walking in front of Max and Shawn were two brown wolves. Shawns' future beta and delta each carried the rogues' bodies on their backs. Together, they were going towards the pack house.

Shawn suggested that Max could ride on his back, but Max flatly refused. The smirk on Shawn's face indicated, that he wouldn't mind Max riding something else of his too...

Max, on the other hand, couldn't understand if the tall boy genuinely liked him, or just had a flirty nature and was simply messing around. He knew that most of the werewolves liked to play around shamelessly, before finding their mate. No sooner than a mate would appear, werewolves would just drop every partner at that moment, becoming completely obsessed with their mate. Usually, it was very heartbreaking. Max often had a lot of people coming to him for help, after being dumped by werewolves.

"So, tell me. How did you force them to shift back? And why they are unconscious?" Shawn spoke after a long pause.

Max was walking next to him, looking off into the distance.

"Do you know how witchcraft works?" he asked.

"No. Not really...We had a couple of witches in the pack a long time ago. But not anymore. They are quite rare nowadays".

"So, to summarize shortly, we, witches have our natural abilities, that varies depending on a witch. Some of us can control fire magic, some water, light, void, transformation, etc... It's not like we can't control a couple of elements at the same time. Just if you are a void mage, your abilities in transformation would be very limited. To strengthen our magic, we use some additional things, it can anything, depending on your element. So it can be dirt, pictures, candles, herbs, mushrooms, berries, even familiars and so on. We are able to cast without it. But some spells might be not so strong. Also sometimes we need a lot of concentration, so we use chants, to help us concentrate better. We can put some of our magic in objects, like potions and charms."

"So what is your speciality?" Shawn asked.

"I am a healer. That's why I need lots of herbs, mushrooms, and other things, as I mix potions, to help other people".

"So that's why those rogues shifted back?"

"Uh-huh. As you know, it is very hard to shift back, when you are a rogue. Anger and rage control you, and your crazy inner-wolf sometimes completely takes over you. So I used some healing spells on them, slightly disorientating them" Max answered, while still looking into the distance.

"You know a lot about werewolves. How come?"

Max just shrugged his shoulders and didn't answer. Shawn saw from Max's expression that it was better not to push answers from him.

As they looked in front of them, they could already see the pack house in the distance. They walked in silence the rest of the way.

The pack house, or pack village, was huge. There was a main mansion, where the alphas and betas families lived. All around were other buildings, with pack members housing, or other buildings like hospitals, training grounds, a common area and so on. Lots of pack members lived in the town too. Shawn briefly explained everything to Max.

As soon as they entered, other members took the still unconscious rogues and carried them off somewhere.

"Come," Shawn said to Max, motioning for him to follow.

The main house was huge. It's interior was classic and definitely expensive. After a long walk through the maze of corridors, they had reached a huge wooden door, which Max assumed lead to the alpha's office. Carvings on the door were definitely made by a professional artisan, and you could see that it was quite old.

"Damn, those doors must cost more than my whole house", thought Max to himself.

Shawn knocked on the door a couple of times and entered the office.

What Max saw first, was a huge desk in front and a huge muscular man sitting behind it. Next to the desk, on the couch was another man sitting. "The alpha and beta",  Max assumed.

The alpha motioned for Max to sit on a chair in front of the desk, and Shawn stood up at the side, leaning on a big bookshelf.

"So, it's very good to finally meet you in the flesh, Max. You know, that pup other there, lately won't shut up about you." He glanced towards his own son.
