Festival: Cavalry Battle

The next day passed, and the remaining students awoke to their doors with a headband on the knob with a note attached.

Koru and Ariel got their respective headbands, and saw the note.

Koru read the note. "It's from Niyo. He says to grab our breakfast from the cafeteria and put our headbands on. There, we will get into teams of a maximum of four. The top five teams will advance onward to fight in the final day of the festival. The amount of points depends on who the rider is.

Ariel put on a headband. "Should we use me as a kite?"

Koru nodded. "I'm the rider."

The two left the dorm, and went to the hot spring. Still, not many people knew the spring was there. Luckily, the only other person they saw was Marya.

After leaving the spring, everybody got breakfast, and reported back to the arena.

Koru and Ariel were on one team, with Koru's headband worth one million points.

Nora and Ona were teamed with Iru and a third year with Nora as the rider with her band worth five hundred thousand points. Aron and Riki were teamed with Axle and Aki, with Riki as the rider. His headband was worth nine thousand points.

After the teams were formed, the teams prepared to battle. Koru wrapped a chain around Ariel, and she began to fly. She landed after making sure she could lift Koru, who not so surprisingly, didn't weigh much.

"Three, two, one!"

The students dashed, and Ariel flew upward, and Koru began to survey the area. After scouting out Nora, Ariel went down, and flew Koru into the range of his chains. He used numbing magic on Nora, and then descended slowly, managing to take her headband. He slid it onto his neck. They decided to use that strategy until they got shot at by Axle.

Yui, a second year, and Shi carried Reito to the nearest team, and stole their headband.

Rala stayed in the background with her teammates, and worked on taking the headbands from a distance. There, she felt one of her teammates lose balance. Axle and his team were right in front of her, and the two engaged in a magic battle to see who would take the other's headband.

Ona turned into a ball, and Nora threw her once weight was shifted. She bounced on Reito, and shifted her arm out of her form, taking his headband. She returned to her human form, and the team stopped so her sister could put the headband around her wrist, and she went back to her team.

Koru and Ariel saw Nora vulnerable, and Koru launched three chains, two to restrain Nora, and the third one to remove the headband.

"Five minutes left!"

At this time, the students were in a rush. For the remaining five minutes, everybody was in a rush.

Umi and Rai were at the edge of their seat, and Aki saw an opening when Koru lowered the chains over Riki. Quickly, Riki got onto the chains, and climbed. He managed to steal Nora's headband, and he let himself freefall, knowing his team would catch him. Instead, Koru caught Riki before he hit the ground, but his strength was strong enough to counter the shock.

Koru lowered the third year to his team, and retracted all of his chains, and Ariel began to land, as time was running out.

After landing, she put Koru on her shoulders, and the two ran for their lives. Luckily, before they became surrounded, time ran out. Everybody was on their way to the front row seats of the arena, awaiting Helga's next announcements.

"As you can see, time is up. Only five teams will make it to the final round. In first place, we have Koru and Ariel."

Helga then asked for their headbands.
