Will woke up to rain softly patting on the roof of his house. The sky was grey, and everything outside was wet, wet, wet. Will crawled out of his bed and put on some grey sweatpants with a blue shirt. He loved this outfit because it reminded him of Mike.

As the short boy was enjoying his breakfast, he had decided he was going to confess his feelings for Mike sometime before spring break started, which was two weeks from today. He had put a lot of thought into this over the last few weeks and today decided he was going to try and confess to Mike. He knew it wasn't going to be easy though.

When Will arrived at his school, he immediately went looking for Dustin. Will and Dustin were usually the only two kids from the party to arrive at school early, and Dustin always hung out in the A.V room before class, doing last minute studying or homework or just listening to his music because the school had banned walkmans.

Will tried opening the door to the A.V room, and sure enough, it was unlocked. He peered in, opening the door slowly, and just as he thought, Dustin was there doing homework.

"Morning Dustin!" Will greeted.

"Oh hey Will," Dustin said "I never see you come here, what's going on?"

"I umm," Will started "I wanted to talk to you about something."

"Alright then." Dustin got up and locked the door to the A.V room, then sat back down. "What's going on bro?"

"So..." Will started, "I-I think I'm ready to confess my feelings to Mike."

Dustin's face lit up. "Ohhhhhh!" he said "Is my little buddy here finally ready to make a move?"

"I don't know whats causing this, normally I would never be able to do this." Will said

"Love works in mysterious ways man." Dustin said

"Yeah I guess." Will said "Anyways, I need some advice. I've never confessed my feelings to someone before."

"Yeah you have, remember that girl in 5th grade, I think her name was... Elena?" Dustin asked

"Well- yeah... but you know how that went Dustin."

"Eh, she was ugly and still is, you didn't deserve her anyways." Dustin said, smiling. "Now, for love advice, I don't really have any, but I know someone who does."

"Who?" Will asked.

"Mr. Clarke" Dustin replied "He actually has some great advice on girls, remember when I asked Abigail out a few weeks ago?"

"Didn't she reject you?" Will asked

"That's not the point." Dustin said, "The point is, Mr. Clarke gave me some great advice on what to do to ask her out, and I'm sure he's got more he hasn't told me."

Will thought to himself for a bit, and decided he would stop by Mr Clarke's classroom after school. There was no A.V or Science club today, so he knew there would be nobody else there.

School flew by pretty quickly, and Will was in his 4th and final class of the day, anxiously waiting for the bell to ring. Eventually, it did, and Will packed his stuff up and made his way down to Mr Clarke's classroom. When he peered inside, it was just as he expected, no other kids there, just Mr. Clarke packing up his stuff. Will entered the room and made himself present.

"Uhh- hello." Will greeted.

"Afternoon Mr. Byers!" Mr. Clarke greeted "How can I help you, is this about the upcoming exam?"

"Uhh, no actually I'm fine on the upcoming exam." Will answered.

"Alright good, what do you need then?" Mr. Clarke asked

"Well.." Will sat down in a seat and prepared to ask him, "Dustin told me that you know some good advice on asking someone out, and well..."

"Interesting." Mr Clarke said "This is the first time I've seen you engage in a relationship."

"Heh, yeah." Will spoke, awkwardly.

"Well, whats their name?" Clarke asked.

"Uhh... I don't wanna say their name yet, I'm too... nervous." Will said.

"Alright, that's okay." Mr Clarke replied, "Just dont mention anything like their name or gender, that way you can keep it secret."

"Okay." Will said.

"Alright, let's hear it." Mr Clarke spoke.

"Alright." Will spoke, "I've known them for a very long time, not sure how long, but we're pretty good friends. They have dark messy hair that's just, so beautiful and soft, you could play with it for hours. They're also really smart and funny, and I get these... weird, feelings... around them."

"Sounds a lot like love to me." Mr Clarke said.

"Wait... really?" Will asked.

"Yep." Mr. Clarke said, "I've been in love many times before, it's a pretty easy feeling to catch but hard to identify. It can be right next to you for your entire life without you realizing."

"So... you're really sure it's love? I thought I just... liked them." Will said

"I'm not saying it is love, but those are common symptoms. And there is a very big difference between liking someone and loving someone."

"What is it?" Will asked.

"When you like someone, it's usually someone you don't know much about, you only see the part of them they show in public. That's what you 'like', and usually, these feelings go away after a while Now, when you love someone, it's someone you like because of who they are, you've seen all parts of them and still like them. And the feelings of love almost never go away, they stay with you. That's the best way I can explain it, there's much more to love that you can only learn yourself." Mr Clarke spoke.

"Oh..." Will said

"This person sounds very special to you." Mr Clarke said.

"Yeah... they are." Will said

"If you want my advice on how to ask them out, write them a note." Mr Clarke suggested, "I'm not saying it will work for you, but that's how I asked my crush out when I was in high school."

"Did she say yes?" Will asked

"She certainly said yes." Mr Clarke said "They didn't call us prom king and queen for nothing."

"You were prom king?!" Will said, suprised

"Yep, I was." Clarke said, pulling out a picture from his drawer, "Here's a picture of it, back when I was younger."

Will was amazed by this sight.

"Now I must leave." Mr Clarke said "I wish you good luck on asking her out, you're a great student Will. I know she'll say yes."

Mr Clarke finished packing up his stuff and walked out of the classroom. Will stood there and thought for a bit. As he was walking out, he thought about writing a note. It got his teacher pretty far, it might work for him too.

Will decided he would write a note to confess all of his feelings to his crush. Michael Wheeler.
