Chapter 17

A/N: sorry if you hate seeing these. But I really recommend those two songs. I have had a request to do a song recommendation every chapter so here's my next song recommendation: Netflix trip by AJR, it's actually based about the show "the office" but some lyrics remind me of OITNB's effect on my life. Also, season7 has finished filming and I'm so sad :( I don't want it to end, but I really want s7!

Alex POV:

I woke up feeling trapped by something. I was too hot, and I'm terrified of being trapped. I started panicking, a lump in my throat, until I saw what was pinning me down on the bed.

Somehow, piper managed to get her body on top of mine, and sleep on me. As if I'm the bed. Her head was on my chest, our legs tangled together and I felt all of her body connect with mine. To my disappointment, I was immediately aroused. I wish I could control my feelings!

Suddenly piper moved a little, mumbled the words "Alex" which made my heart glow, she was dreaming of me, and she moved her left arm up and it curled around my head on the pillow. How piper got into this position, I have no idea. How I just woke up now? Also no idea.

I smiled, and watched piper sleep. Someone came through into my bedroom, but I didn't notice until they coughed. I jumped, wrapped my arms around piper and flipped her over, so I was on top of her. My heated core went cold, thinking there was a danger, and I felt the need to protect what I felt is mine.

Then Red's Russian accent filled the room, causing me to release piper, get off her, sit up and look my official in the eye. "We need to get going. Everyone is ready to leave. No time to shower, we think there's going to be another attack on the castle. We are now going to city Max, we are taking a bus, you can shower on that. Wake up Chapman, be down in 5 minuets please Vause" I nodded, and just before she left the room and turned and said "that was cute by the way" and walked off. I was thankful no-one could see the blush on my cheeks.

I started hearing mumbles "oof.. a-..Alex?" "Mm? I'm here baby" I told her, moving some of her hair out of her eyes. She smiles sleepily.

"We need to get up, we are leaving to the next city soon. This city is quite dangerous and aggressive, it's wear our armies train too. I just need to check on them, we won't be there long. You will need to stay inside" I tell her while getting dressed. I could feel her eyes on me, following my every movement.

"I want to stay with you" she says, making my heart melt. "I'm sorry Pipes. But some things I don't want you to see. Besides, I've arranged for you to start your training. Max is in the country side, and not that far from here. Just a few hours. During the journey, I've got a fuck load of paper work to do. Youre gunna listen to a book using your headphones. It is a book about our kingdoms history, and it's important you learn more about it." Im now fully dressed. I've downloaded and got many books for piper to read. If she were to... get married to me.. she'd need to know more information. Make her seem more useful to the public, and when doing royal duties she'd need to know these things.. it'll be useful. I tell myself. Trying to ignore the marriage aspect.

"Fine" She grumbles. "I'm doing this for you. I'll read the books. BUT you've got to let me go out for runs, and if this is already a part of my training, I want to start doing self defence. I want a sword!" I chuckle

"Pipes, I admire the enthusiasm.. but I don't trust you with a sword. You're clumsy, I don't want you falling on your own sword."

She exhales angrily, and gets changed in the bathroom. I shake my head, girls.

Pipers POV:

Alex said this was a short journey. We've been on this bus for hours, and I was bored out of my mind. I'd nearly finished listening to the books audio, and I made notes too. I was a model student at school, so I was demonstrating it again for Alex. But god.. I knew most of these things already! I can't believe I'm almost..training to be a Royal.

I was also slightly exhausted, because I worked very hard learning the contexts of the books. I wanted to impress Alex with my knowledge. I was aware we had some party to go to tonight, and I assumed a lot of people would be going. The next day, Alex told me would be my first self defence lesson. I'm excited, but I wanted it to be Alex to teach me. Not some stranger. I rested my head on Alex's shoulder, and took my headphone thingies off. Alex was deep in discussion with some of her officials, but I was completely zoned out. Annoyed that she lied saying this was a short journey.

My eyes were closed, breath evening out. But before I was embraced by sleep, I was moved. My head now on a much comfier soft pillow, my legs lifted onto the seat and I stretched out. A little sigh escaping my lips from contentment.

I drifted into peaceful oblivion

ALEX POV:

I moved piper so she'd be more comfortable, and I loved watching her sleep. I slowly wrapped a arm around her, and with my other hand stroked her head. One of her arms moved and laid itself on my knee, which helped heat me up thoroughly.

She was so warm, like a little heater of my own.

I dazing smiled down at her, and was brought back to talking to my officials by Nicky clicking in my face.

"Vause! Focus please!"

"Sorry, but please be quiet" I snapped at her. Nicky almost recoiled, which hurt my feelings. We've been best friends for years.. I haven't ever hurt her. Why did she react that way?

"We need you to visit the school soon. You haven't been in a while.. it would boost moral Vause" Lorna politely said.

"Fine. I'll think about it. You know I hate going.. you're breaking people to make them. I wish we could avoid the breaking part."

"It's the mistakes and regrets, the pain and the breaking that make you learn who you are though" Nicky interjected

"I suppose" I replied, knowing I'd get nowhere. I'd have to visit the school, but I was already dreading it.

"Anything else?" I asked my officials. We've been debating for hours, the traffic was woeful.

"No, but we will arrive at the palace in two hours. Try get some rest. We've only got a hour to get you ready for the party" Red said.

"And piper"

"Yes, piper too" red sighed.

We stopped the carriage and they got out, and left me and my piper alone. My piper? She's not mine. She belongs to no one but herself. What is wrong with me? I think.
I settle myself in my seat, remove my glasses,  and fall asleep.

I'm forcefully nudged awake.

"Mm? What is it?" I ask sleepily, rubbing my eyes and squint. Everything was blurry, but I could see fuzzy moving shapes. Big hair. Very energetic and agitated. The shale kept moving..ahh. Nicky.

"Nichols?"

"We are head Vause, wake up sleeping beauty put your magnifying glasses on and move it. Time is of the essence."

"They're on the seat. Please?" I ask squinting, but Nicky has already gone.

Fuck. I softly awake piper.

"Al?" She asks groggily. She's so adorable.

"Yes Pipes, I'm here. We have arrived and need to get ready for the party. But please can you get my glasses? I.. I can't see.." I admit sheepishly.

Piper swiftly got up and grabbed my glasses, choosing herself to smoothly glide them onto my face. Her beautiful face became clear, and I couldn't help but let out my goofy smile.

Piper giggles, and pulls me up.

"Come on your royal majesty, let's get you all pampered and covered in jewels for your party with posh people"  she teased me. I rolled my eyes, let out a raspy chuckle and didn't let go of her hand. Stroking the back of her hand softly with my thumb, and we walked into the grand golden gates of the palace.
