~Sera~
As of right now, we were all standing in front of the Duel Tower looking for my brothers.
"This is insane! Why would Kaiba program his Duel Tower to explode then disappear?" Tea asked.
"Well, he probably knew our ride had busted engines so he found his own way outta this junk yard," Joey answered.
"Dude...I don't think he'd leave Sera behind if that were the case," Kendra pointed out. Joey smiled sheepishly at me as I crossed my arms tapping my foot.
"We'll track him down. Kaiba couldn't have gone far, but we must act fast," Yami said to us.
"Can do," Tristen agreed.
"I just hope we're not too late!" Tea said. We all split up then, I stayed with Yami. We both started looking for my brothers then. I sighed.
"I can't believe Seto wants to destroy this place just because he lost to you. I never really thought of him as a sore loser," I said.
"You would think he'd learn due to everything I've said to him," Yami murmured.
"He has a thick skull, Yami. It takes more than talking to get to him. I'm talking from experience," I stated. I started remembering all those times when we were younger. Man, it took forever to get him to listen. "Just give him time and he'll come around."
"I see this stubbornness runs in your family," Yami mused. I smirked.
"We get it from our mother. She was always a tough nut to crack," I told him. I then started thinking. "I know about reason Seto wants to get rid of this place."
"What is it, Sera?" Yami asked me.
"Our step-father. Running into him again...it brought back too much pain and it must have been the same for Seto. This island was once Gozaburo's, even with our Duel Tower on it...it makes us still remember those horrible times. I think Seto wants to get rid of any ties with this island and honestly, I don't blame him," I sighed.
"I see. I wish none of you had to go through that, Sera," Yami replied. I nodded feeling the same way. After a little more looking we made it back to the others.
"Anything?" I asked.
"Nothing," Joey replied.
"Sorry, Sera," Kendra frowned. I sighed running a hand through my hair.
"Those boys sure know to make me worry," I muttered as I grabbed my locket. Yami wrapped and arm around my shoulders.
"We'll find them soon, Sera," he promised.
"How we doin' on time?" Joey asked Roland.
"This tower will explode in thirteen minutes," Roland answered looking at his watch.
"Then what are we doing standing here?!" Tristen asked. Joey ran up to Roland and grabbed him by the collar.
"You're Kaiba's right hand goon! You must know how to stop that thing, so quit holding out on us, Roland!" Joey demanded.
"Look, only Mr. Kaiba knows how and unfortunately, he's nowhere to be found!" Roland replied. Joey let him go.
"Well, when I find him, he's toast!" Joey said.
"Don't you know how to stop the countdown, Sera?" Tea asked me. I shook my head.
"No, I don't. Seto must have put it in without me knowing," I said.
'With Kaiba missing and our ride home on the fritz, we'll never escape that explosion,' Yugi told us.
'We've got to have faith,' Yami stated. I nodded.
'We will get through this...I just hope there will be enough of Seto for me to yell at,' I told them. They both smirked at that.
"You gotta chill out, man," Tristen said putting a hand on Joey's shoulder. "It's important to stay calm," he added.
"Stay calm? This island is about to blow sky high and we're stuck here with no way out," Joey stated.
"Who knows? Maybe the ship's engines are fixed," Tea said trying to be positive.
"Hey!" We heard. We turned them.
"It's Duke and Bakura," Yami said as we saw the two guys running up.
"This better be good news," Joey said as we all ran up to them.
"Well guys, what's up with the engines?" Kendra asked.
"They're still not working. We need more time!" Duke answered.
"We have none!" Tristen retorted.
"There's only twelve minutes left," Roland informed looking at his watch.
"Let me have a shot at these things," Joey said starting to run over.
"Joey, since when can you fix an engine?!" Tea called over.
"Please! How hard can it be?" Joey asked. I rolled my eyes.
"If you mess up then you explode and die," I told him. He stopped.
"Then again, I don't wanna get my hands dirty right now," Joey said running back.
"Call me crazy, but couldn't we just take that copter over there?" Tristen asked.
"My thoughts exactly," I smirked running over. I then made it to the pilot's seat and buckled in.
"Just think, if Sera hadn't passed out, they never would've sent this helicopter to save her and we'd still be stuck on this island," Tea pointed out.
"Gee, glad my misery can help us," I mumbled. Yami chuckled.
"You sure you can fly this thing?" He asked me. I gave him a look.
"You do remember I'm a Kaiba, right?" I retorted. He chuckled again.
"Right, stupid question," he agreed.
"Any luck?" Roland asked.
"No. We can't wait. Take off now. Let's hope Mr. Kaiba and Mokuba found their own way out," the pilot from earlier said. I looked down and felt Yami place his hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sure they're safe, Sera. After all, Kaiba wouldn't set something like this up without having an escape plan," he told me. I wipe a stray tear away and nodded.
"Everyone, hang on. Lifting for take-off," I announced.
"Thirty seconds left," Roland said. I nodded.
"Accelerate take-off speed," I said as we floated up. "We're not a safe enough distance from the tower yet," I said. I looked back at the tower. Seto...Mokuba...please be safe! My Crystal...I hope they'll answer. 'Seto?' I asked.
'Sera, are you all on the helicopter?' He asked me.
'Yes, but are you and Mokuba safe? Please tell me you two are okay!' I thought to him.
'Don't worry, little sister. We have our own ride,' he told me. I sighed of relief.
'Thank goodness. You're both getting an earful when we get home, Seto Kaiba!' I told him in a firm tone.
'I knew you would say that...' he sighed.
'You two are in so much trouble,' I stated. As soon as we were far away, the tower exploded. The others gasped in worry. "Guys...you don't need to worry," I told them.
"What?! First you worry about your brothers and now you don't?! What's wrong with ya?!" Joey asked me. I lifted up my Crystal.
"Does this answer your question?" I asked.
"You talked to them? Are they okay?" Kendra asked. I nodded.
"They got their own ride," I informed. Everyone sighed in relief. It's then we saw it.
"It's a Blue Eyes White Dragon!" Yami said shocked.
"I don't get it," Joey said. I chuckled.
"Seto's special jet," I said simply as the jet flew beside us.
"SAY WHAT?!" Joey freaked seeing my brothers there.
"Hey! Surprise, surprise!" Mokuba grinned over.
"Where does he get this stuff?" Tristen asked.
"Oh who cares?" Tea sighed.
"You mean to tell me they were safe all along?" Joey asked.
"Let's be glad it's over," Duke groaned.
"I'M GONNA KILL 'EM!" Kendra growled. I smirked.
"And here I thought you hated my brother," I said to her.
"I HATE HIM MORE NOW!" She growled again.
"Hey, no killing your best friend!" I told her.
"Hey, why are they traveling in the helicopter, Seto?" Mokuba asked.
"Oops, I guess the other ship wasn't fixed yet," Seto replied in a smug tone.
"THAT DOES IT!" Joey growled. I sighed.
"Thanks a lot, Seto. Joey, put that down!" I told him as Joey grabbed the
"You think it's funny we almost became fish food down there?! Wait 'till we land this thing!" Joey growled. Seto just smiled, highly amused by Joey's reaction.
"Sorry, Joey, but we're not going back with you. We've got important Kaiba Corp. business to take care of," Mokuba said. I glared over.
"And you were gonna tell me when!?" I asked growling. One of the pilots took over for me as I got up. Seto and Mokuba flinched. "In case you forgotten, I'm the vice president of Kaiba Corp.! I know things that even you two don't!" I stated.
"What are you planning? Another tournament?" Joey asked.
"You'll just have to wait and see, Wheeler," Seto smirked. I crossed my arms.
"You two will go home once you are done. When you get there, be ready for the yelling of a life time! YOU TWO WILL BE SO GROUNDED!" I growled making the two flinch again. My other friends...we scared of me.
"I'm glad she's not my sister," Duke muttered.
"Those two are dead meat," Kendra agreed.
"I think Sera will be planning a funeral when this is over," Tristen said. Seto waved over before he accelerated and left. I was shaking with anger and Yami wrapped his arms around my shoulders from behind.
"You need to calm down, Sera," he told me softly. I took a deep calming breath before letting it out. I then crossed my arms stubbornly.
"I won't kill them..." I grumbled. Yami raised an eyebrow. "Okay fine...I'm not going to kill Mokuba. Seto on the other hand better stay away until I've cooled down," I stated. Yami let and amused smirk dance on his lips. After a little bit we made it back to Domino.
"Home sweet home, baby!" Joey grinned as we got off. We were now standing at the pier watching the sunset.
"Well, we made it home in one piece," Tristen said.
"Barely," Tea and Kendra retorted.
"Pharaoh, Queen, it is because of your bravery that my brother was saved from the evil that once consumed his heart," Ishizu said to us.
"How can I ever thank you?" Marik asked us. I smiled at him with the others.
"Just keep in touch, got it," I smirked. Marik chuckled and nodded.
"Now the time has come for you two to uncover the great mysteries that surround your pasts," Ishizu smiled.
"Pharaoh, Queen, you both saved me from myself, you helped me conquer the darkness within my own heart. I hope in spite of all I've done, we can be friends," Marik said mainly to Yami.
"Yes," Yami agreed.
"Goodbye, my King and Queen. I know we'll meet again soon," Ishizu said. I sighed.
"What? No goodbye hug for your sister. Such love," I joked. They all chuckled and hugged me. I rolled my right sleeve up and showed my tattoo. "Brothers and sisters no matter what," I told them. They nodded with smiles before they left and we wished them well.
"You have a tattoo?!" Duke asked. I nodded and showed them.
"What does it mean?" Yami asked me tracing the lines.
"It's a triquetra. One point is for my brothers, one point is for my step-siblings, and the other is for me. It means we're all connected," I informed.
"It's really cool," Kendra smiled. Yami gave a smile of agreement as he wrapped his arm around my waist. I rolled my sleeve down.
"Who knew there was a nice guy inside that psychotic, evil nutcase?" Joey asked as we watch Marik's boat leave.
"Watch it..." I warned.
"You've certainly got a way with words, Joey," Mai commented.
"It's a gift," Joey shrugged.
"Okay, I guess it's time for us to say goodbye now," Duke smiled.
"Why's that, Duke?" Tristen asked.
"You know me. I can't stay in one spot for too long. I've got places to go, places to take my girl, and dice to roll," Duke said wrapping his around Kendra's waist.
"But no worries, we'll be back," Kendra winked with a smile. I shook my head amused.
"Just make sure to message me, Emerald," I told her.
"You got it, Cobalt. Love ya!" She said as she and Duke started walking off.
"Yeah, love you too," I chuckled. Emerald and Cobalt, our other nicknames for each other because of our eye colors.
"Everyone's going their own way," Joey sighed.
"Yeah. Ya know, it makes me feel like I should have some sort of plan," Tristen commented.
"There's still plenty of time to figure it out," Tea replied.
"It just makes me think; what's gonna come next for me?" Tristen asked.
"Like Tea said, you'll find it eventually. Just wait," Serenity smiled.
"You're right. I just have to trust in fate," Tristen said putting something in her hand.
"What's this?" She asked finding a piece of paper.
"TRISTEN!" Joey snarled before he and Tristen broke out laughing. Tea and Serenity giggled. I just chuckled as I felt Yami's fingers weaving through mine.
"Okay, my turn," Mai piped up.
"What's that?" Yami asked as we looked at her.
"You're not leaving too, are you, Mai?" I asked her.
"I'm a wonderer and I'm afraid the open road calls. I came here for the Battle City Tournament, but now that that's over, it's time for me to move on. It's been real," Mai smiled.
"Mai...don't go. You were like a...like a sister to me. Thank you, Mai. You've done so much," Serenity said with tears in her eyes.
"I should be thanking you, Serenity," Mai said wiping Serenity's tear away. "When I was trapped in the Shadow Realm, you took care of me and you never left my side. Thank you. Yugi, Sera, listen. In the next tournament, it's gonna be me against one of you," Mai smirked at us. We both smirked back.
"You're on," Yami and I replied.
"Mai, uh, I, uh, what I'm trying to say is, uh...never mind," Joey tried.
"Bye guys, see ya around. Be good!" Mai waved before running off.
"Joey, don't be such a dork!" Tea told him. I nodded.
"Do something right for a change, will ya," I sighed. Joey blinked. "GO AFTER THE GIRL!" I pointed. He took off then.
"Alright, alright, sheesh!" He shouted. Joey soon came back and I smirked.
"So? How did it go?" I asked him. He grinned.
"I'll be keeping in touch. Now, Serenity and I better get home. Bye guys!" Joey said as he and Serenity left.
"I better get going too," Tea said.
"Me too. I'll give you a ride," Tristen told her. She nodded and those two left waving at us. I sighed and looked back out at the sunset. Yami walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, his temple resting against mine.
"Are you alright, Sera?" He asked me. I leaned into his hold.
"Yeah, I guess...I don't know. I keep getting the feeling that there's more danger out there. Danger that awaits us both. It scares me a little bit," I admitted. Yami's gripped tightened a little and he kissed my head.
"Whatever it is, we'll get through it. We always do, my Queen," he said to me. I smiled at how right he was about that. "Sera...when we were having that four way duel...you remembered what you saw in the Shadow Realm, didn't you?" He asked. I stiffened as I remembered again. "Sera, you never have to worry about losing us like that," he told me.
"Then how come I feel like I might lose you soon?" I murmured.
"What do you mean? Sera, I'd never leave you unless you wished it," he frowned. I looked down.
"I don't know...I just have this nagging thought in my head. When this is all over...what will happen to you? Will you stay with us or....Will you move on and leave all of us?" I asked.
~Yami~
Hearing this...I couldn't help but think about the same thing. What if I have to leave? I...I wouldn't be able to leave Sera. She was in pain just thinking about this. Just saying it hurt her. I moved my arms from her waist and wrapped them around her shoulders, holding her to me.
"If I'm given the choice, then I'd stay and be with you forever. If not...then just know that I'm always in your heart and I'll always be there, even if you can't see me," I told her. Her hands came up to my arms and held them there. I felt her starting to shake. "Sera..." I whispered as I held her close.
"I love you...so much," she whispered.
"I love you too," I replied. I turned her around to have her face me. I cupped her face in my hands, thumbs stroking her cheeks to rid her to rid her of the tears. I kissed her forehead gently before resting mine against it. "I'll always be there, Sera. No matter what," I promised her. She smiled at me and I returned it. We then shared a kiss. We pulled back.
"Yami, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me," I heard her whisper as she snuggled her head into my neck. I smiled thinking the same thing. The next day we met up after Sera and Yugi were done with school. "Hi, Yami. Now that that's all over with, let's duel," she winked with a giggle. I smiled at her.
"You're on," I told her. We placed our decks in the Duel Disk and smirked to one another.
"DUEL!"
