Katrock247Z;

Hey new writers! I was asked by@LaurenSweetHeart to write an inspirational letter about writing.

I started my first book, Venomous, about a year ago. I had absolutely no idea how to write. I had own an award for an essay the year before but besides that I had no experience. I was always an avid reader and I still read all sorts of books ranging from YA to adult criteria. I think as a writer it's very important to read a whole lot so that you have an idea of what you're getting into. Writing takes a lot of dedication, planning out, and motivation. It's not a hobby or job for anyone, and in the real world, it's practically impossible to be a professional writer right off the bat!

A lot of people ask me what to do when you have writers block. I usually just watch television or do something else. I wouldn't exactly say I get writer's block, moreso I get tired of writing a chapter and have to take a break. Listening to music and picturing the next scene in your story could also help. A lot of my stories are created from listening to music in the car or in bed and picturing my characters.

I don't do any requests for reading because I honestly didn't ask anyone to read my own stories, especially on their profile or directly to a specific author. I posted my covers and my descriptions in the Club section of Wattpad just like everyone else.

I caught the attention of my readers because of my cover art, but also because of my type of story. If you are writing a typical story of a jock and a nerd falling in love, most likely nobody will want to read your story because there are SO many other options on Wattpad.

You have to make your story known by having your own twists and ideas in it, not just cliche after cliche after cliche! You have to remember that those cliches that everyone loves so much, were created by an original person who was creative. You can create your OWN cliche if you really try hard enough.

Thanks for reading!
