A PROMISE OF THE PAST

The 'Rat' in the Greys

Sean's POV

The mission...

   "Wait for my signal guys before moving", I said to my team through my earpiece.

   We are in a mission to catch the person who is the mastermind of the supposed kidnapping of Samantha and the possible murderer of Mr Grey.

   I am with Greg, Michael and Hunter. We are waiting for the 'rat' to call Holmes so we can track the location of  the phone call to find the rat.

   Holmes told us that the 'rat' calls every end of the month using its phone. So here we are waiting.

   I check my phone and dialled Holmes number.

   "Holmes, listen and listen carefully. Dont say anything stupid that you may sound suspicious to the 'rat'. Remember this, if the rat calls you, buy his time to prolong the conversation so we can track him. Understand?", I said with authority.

   "Yes Captain. And please I entrust my family's safety to you.", he pleaded.

   " Leave that to me and do your job. ", I cut the call.

   After five minutes of waiting Hunter alerted us.

   "Here we go Captain, connecting. Tracking the rat starts....Now!", he said.

   While waiting for the location to download , we listened to the conversation.

Rat: Mr. Holmes, as I've told you before you have to kidnap Samantha AGAIN.  And I hope by this time you get her and UNHARMED. Do not hurt her. You just have to bring her here in the safe house with a clean and comfortable room. Make sure that her police friends and brother aren't around. I am fixing her room right now and you can only put her in this room

Holmes: I get that boss. I already hire some of my men to do the job. And I promise you this time we will get her.

   I clenched my fists at hearing this plan of kidnapping the girl I care about. I saw Greg and Mike did the same.

   "95%, come on.", Hunter said.

Rat: I repeat Holmes, no one should get hurt in this! Just take her unharmed and leave neatly.

Holmes: Copy that boss.Consider this job is done first thing in the morning.
  
  Yeah. Behind the bars first thing in the morning 'rat'. I said to myself

Rat: Do your job well and if you hurt or touch her you won't get paid even a cent.

   The call ended.

   "Gotcha! Good job AssHolmes!", Hunter said and we laughed at him.

  "Yeah, good job", I said.

   "Can you track it faster Hadid? You are too slow", Greg said irritated.

  "Calm down boy, you love action huh?", Mike said.

   "Gotcha! Block 3, Henderson."
  
   "Transfer the location into the team's phone Hunter. Come on guys. Let's get this done.", I said and we put our guns in our waist and headed to my car. As soon as we were in, I drove as fast as I can.

  
   We arrived in the 'rat's location.

   "Fuck!", I looked beside me and Mike had a confused face.

   "Why Michael? Do you know who's house is this?". Greg asked.

    "It was their old house before I hide.", he said. You can see mixed motions in his eyes.

   "This can't be. Why?", he said. He is now angry.

   "Who Michael?", I asked him. And before he answers, we heard the front door opened and it revealed...

   Mrs. Rebecca Grey Castro. Abby's mother.

Saying I am shock is an understatement. Lot of questions are in my mind now. I saw Greg is also shocked. While Michael looked at Rebecca confused and pain in his eyes.

   "Hey son, why are you here?Im glad you still remember this place Michael. Is there something wrong?How is Abby and Samantha? Are they Ok?", she said but you can feel her nervousness.

   No one answered her. I just hold my phone and pressed the recorded conversation between Holmes and the rat's. I  held my phone up. The exchange conversation played and Rebecca is sweating now.

   "What was that about Samantha's kidnapping? Are you guys here to inform me about this? Do you guys should be with her guarding her right now? She might be in danger and why are you just here?", she tried to manipulate us.

  I put my phone down and then I secretly dialled the rat's number. Rebecca's phone is ringing in her purse. But she didnt move to take the call.

   "Why not answer the call Rebecca, it must be important. Dont mind us?" I told her with an stern voice.

   "Oh yeah son, please wait". She took ten  steps backwardand answered the call.

    I put my phone in speaker.

   "Hello?", her voice on my phone echoed and there... She looked her way to my hands holding my phone up and wave it for her.

   "Hello Mrs. Rebecca Grey Castro, you are under arrest for planning to kidnap your niece Ms. Samantha Collin Grey. You have the right to remain silent......."Michael read it to her and put handicuff on her hands.

   I cant believe this is happening. She was so sweet, caring and loving towards Sam. Even to me and Greg as we are her daughter's friends.

I am worried about what Abby's reaction when we arrive at the police station and see her mother handicuffed..

   This is so horrible situation.
Why her? I badly want to know her reasons.

This is heart breaking.
