"don't leave me."

those words pounded in the back of my head loudly, suddenly i zoned out, and then the tether ball hit me right in the face. i fell to the ground in confusion. was someone talking to me? i had been hearing things out of no where. i stayed up in my head, but soon came back to earth when jamie came over to me concerned.

"hey! are you okay? eve you hit way too hard," jamie scolded, kneeling down in the sand. i sighed and rubbed
my eyes, that's when i noticed that
my glasses were gone.

"here, i'm sorry for knocking the fuck out of you," eve said handing me my glasses, which somehow didn't break.

"i thought it was funny," rose giggled,
and marlise was obviously trying not to laugh either.

"i thought it was funny," i mocked in a baby voice, rolling my eyes. "it actually hurt. a lot."

rose laughed, "i can tell, you were in motion and then randomly you just stopped moving. you basically let it
hit you."

i didn't reply to rose, because that made me realize that my weird behavior was even visible for other people and i didn't know when i was going to zone out again. this usually only happened while
i was sleeping. i guess i haven't been sleeping very well.

"hey, are you good for real?" marlise asked in a soft tone, just to double check with me.

i nodded with a reassuring smile, "i'm fine, just a little sleepy, i think," i must have been, no wonder i've been feeling so weird today. i stood up and winced, feeling a pain in my head. i must've been hit pretty hard.

"want to go swimming?" eve asked.

"who would want to swim on our time off? plus, that pool is super cold," jamie said looking over at most of our team in bikinis sitting around the pool. they were listening to music and laughing, and then i felt that sinking feeling again. like my anxiety was glaring and i didn't know why.

and then i stumbled backwards. "hey, i think you need to lay down. do you have a concussion or something? you're walking all weird," rose said, leaning an arm around my back as i stumbled.

i flinched when she touched me, which startled her too, so she pulled away. "sorry. and no, i'm fine, i'm just a little dizzy. i need some water, it's really hot out here."

"it doesn't help that you're in long sleeves," rose scolded. and sometimes she was annoyingly right, and i just didn't want to hear it.

"it's fine," i mumbled. "you guys don't have to come with me, you can keep playing."

they all stopped walking, looking back at the tether ball and the pool. "i can go," marlise said. "you guys have fun, we'll be back in time for lunch."

they all looked kind of disappointed, but they walked back. marlise and i went back into the the dorms where a few girls were playing cards against humanity and drawing on each other with sharpies on the floor of the main room. i went into the small kitchen area of the main room and got a water bottle from the counter. i grabbed a granola bar too, of course making sure it didn't have dairy, i was lactose intolerant like as fuck. and i didn't want to feel any worse than i already did.

"this is my room," i said opening the door, seeing that no one was there. we sat on rose's bed because i didn't feel like climbing up there. i changed out of my long sleeve and put on a big one direction t-shirt instead.

"i like it better than mine," she laughed. "plus eve can be annoying sometimes with how loud she is."

i nodded in agreement, putting the cold water bottle on my head. "it actually hurt so bad, i just didn't want to admit it," i laughed, and then i winced.
