"let me go!"
"i'll never let you go," i mumbled sleepily. "never," i whispered.
"sage you're talking in your sleep again," i heard my friend nicole whisper, poking me with an eraser.
i sat up tiredly, lecture hour of history was the reason. i didn't sleep well after that weekend. and things definitely didn't get better by monday, i've been slacking off at practice and sleeping every hour of school because i stayed up all night.
nicole pushed a hair behind her ear, her cute little brown bob was freshly cut. i hardly even noticed because i had been dead all week. and it was only wednesday.
"sorry," i said sitting up, rubbing my eyes. i wiped off the drool on my cheek grimacing as i did so. "have any gum? i have a terrible taste in my mouth."
she nodded, grabbing her bag and rusting through it. "what's up with you? you're always so tired now," she said passing me the gum. i shrugged and lifted her hand instead admiring her new pink acrylic nails.
"these are cute," i laughed, and then i looked at my half polished peeling nails, brittle and weak looking. "i clearly need some help," i laughed.
she laughed too, and then i felt my teacher's presence behind me. "you guys doing that work sheet?" he asked, leaning down.
low and behold mine was completely blank and had a little drool on it. "um yeah definitely," i said awkwardly, mr. perry nodded and patted our shoulders as if telling us to stop slacking off. he was a nice dude, fresh out of college, a lot of girls thought he was cute including nicole.
he was alright. broad shoulders and nice thick glasses. i just didn't see what was so special about him. he looked like every other college frat guy.
we finished up our worksheet by looking up the answers online. history wasn't exactly a blast, but the class went by pretty quickly. the bell rang, and i got up quickly, gathering my things.
i decided to walk the long way to my class because i wanted to listen to music. i usually walked the halls with nicole in silence. she liked to walk with me too. sometimes nicole's best friend anna would walk with us too if she caught up.
"hey, i'm gonna go to my class early," nicole said pulling one of my headphones out. i nodded and kept walking, turning my music up all the way to tune out the loud hallway with lots of people.
i turned on soarin' by bazzi and slipped my phone back into my pocket. i was doing good at not freaking out about last weekend. things were back to normal and i could finally relax and take my mind off of everything. i could distract myself with work, school, friends and family. i barely even saw her during school, i never knew her schedule anyways.
"hey sage
