How to love a Monster

Chapter 8

So, a Friday morning a group of kids got ready for a day in the forest with their parents, but a little girl named Manon. A special program that the entire class participated but her mother had work this day....... Luckily a certain baby-sitter agreed to accompany her to this trip.

Marinette offered to take her all day, she didn't regretted it , they played, explored, walked, toke a lunch break and enjoyed the day until Manon saw something and she ran after it. Marinette told the others to wait them there, then she ran after the little girl. What she didn't knew that Manon got a bit sick before the trip and this sickness slowly growed and growed along the trip and she was became too weak to even walk, winch she only realized after that she ran into a mansion where she almost fainted.

Marinette ran and ran, knowing that she was gone a pretty long time but she needed, had to find Manon, so she continued to ran until she found a path and followed it. She started to became afraid because the sun begun to go down and no one want to be alone in the forest at night.

Finally, in the end of the path she found a mansion, inside it's garden she found Manon's bag so even if she disliked this mansion, because it looked scary, she opened the door and went inside to find Manon.

The mansion looked cold, old and scary from outside but from the inside everything was brand new, warm, elegant and beautiful, she thought if someone live here then they probably saw Manon and she started to yell.

-Hello!!........Is there someone!?!.............No one saw a little girl??!- After some minute the silence started to be a little awkward and weird, if everything is look's brand new then probably someone is living here, so why aren't anyone answered? She started to think that Manon stayed outside in the garden when she heard coughing and they got louder and louder, she ran in the direction where the coughing came from. She stopped at a big double door and opened it to find a big room with a fireplace and a sofa but nothing more. She faced the back of the sofa until she noticed Manon, just 1 or 2 meter before her, she yelled her name and the little girl looked at her with fear in her eyes. She wanted to run to her, hug her and tell her that everything is alright but in that very moment she understood that something is really, really wrong.............and she didn't needed to wait too long to know what it was.

Behind the sofa she heard growls winch is only got louder and louder until she finally who was growling........the person came at the side of the sofa and slowly she was able to see him. He was big and fluffy but in the same time he was mad and scary, he mostly looked like a black cat and wolf's combination, those elements made a big, scary cat like monster who looked really, really angry and he only came closer and closer. He passed the little girl and he only focused at the woman before him, he wouldn't let himself look away, not even for a moment. Marinette was scared.........No! She was terrified......she panicked........horrified?!! There weren't any word to describe what she felt in that moment.

- I...I.......I'm so sor-ry f-for come...ing in-in-inside with...without y-your permis-s-sion b-b-but she is.is j-just a l-little kid, she d-didn't o things l-like t-this s-sometime- Even with the fact that she weren't ever scared this much in her life, she tried to apologize, grab the little girl and run away as soon as possible, but she couldn't.- I-I take Manon and w-we w-won't ever c...come back.- She tried to get closer to Manon but the monster stepped before her and growled.- We won't c-come back nor tell anyone a-about this p...place, I....I....we- we promise.- She didn't wanted to make the monster even more angrier than he already was but he only growled again and stepped closer to her.

Then she remembered what she read in one of her many books.....Hostage!!

- You want to keep her here like some kind of a hostage?- The words came out of her mouth before she could stop them, for her surprise the monster nodded. That meant that he understand her and finally she understood it too, he was angry because they were in his territory, that's what she thought.

- Please, she is sick and weak, she needs to go to the hospital and eventually her mother is going to be worried for her.- She knew that was useless but she tried to convince him. She had to think, Manon's coughs only grow louder and louder, she needed to take her out of there somehow and as fast as possible but how if he won't let her go?

And then she had an idea, she knew what she was about to say will change her life forever but she didn't had a choice, she was too kind to leave the little girl here.

- What about a deal? - The monster, for the first time, walked out of the shadow to reveal himself completely, stopped growling and relaxed into a "no attacking position", showing her that he was interested.- If you let her go she wouldn't say a word about this place. And I....I....I stay here. To be the hostage. In her place....Deal?- he was giving him her, shaking, hand and waited. The monster got on two legs and with his clawed paws, draw an X on his chest just above his heart and pointed at the woman.

She needed some second to understand what he wanted from her, when she did she took a deep breath and said- I promise you, that I won't leave this place, without your permission.- Then she closed her eyes and waited for something to happen but nothing did so she opened her eyes to be faced by the monster. His dark green, cat-like eyes were looking into her soul.....then suddenly he groaned loudly and a second later a turtle-like person and a skeleton came to the room, stopping before the monster- Yes, master.- They said in union, the monster now looked at them and groaned, this time it looked like he spoke or gave some kind of order, then the skeleton spoke- I understand, master. Take the little human to the other side of the forest to the human group and don't be seen. I be as fast as I can and will come back as soon as possible, master.- Then he grabbed Manon and ran out of the room then the mansion.

When he disappeared then the monster talk-groaned at the turtle like person, in the main time she stood there scared, curious and relived that Manon was going back to the others. Soon she was taken aback to the reality by the turtle guy.

-Miss, master ordered me to take you into one of the bedrooms upstairs so you could rest.- In this point she didn't understand a thing, everything happend so fast, she doesn't even noticed when he walked out of the room nor how tired she actually was so she only nodded.

The next thing she knew that she was in a room winch in she didn't looked around or anything, she just got inside the bed, under the covers and when she got comfortable, she dazed into a deep sleep, wishing that all of that was a bad dream.
