How to love a Monster

Chapter 10

- It was an order from Master!

- He ordered you!

- This order goes to you.

- But I'm not his servant!

- But your in his mansion.

- I'm not here because I wanted to to!

- But the chef is going to be upset if you refuse his meal.

- Then tell him that his food isn't my problem!

- What else then?

- Him!!

- The chef?!

- No! The "Master"!!

- But........

- No buts! I'm not going to eat with him.

- He is going to be mad.

- I don't care!!- Her screams echoed through the mansion walls so everyone could hear it, but  the worst was that the master heard it too and got in her room in a blink of an eye, even his servants were surprised especially Rena when he showed up behind Marinette.

- Marinette......

- No! No matter what you say I still won't care!

- Marinette.

- You can tell to your "Master" that I won't come!

- Marinette!

- And I'm not going to care what he say about it.

- Marinette!!!

- He can groan as much as he wants but my answer will be NO!

- MARINETTE!!!!!

- And you can tell him that he.......

- MARINETTE!!!!!!!

- He is behind me, isn't he....?

They both went quite as Rena slowly nodded, Marinette, even slower then Rena, turned around to face Chat who after what he heard didn't looked happy. His forest green eyes looked through her soul and send 3 shiver down her spine with every second that passed, her pounded the quickest way possible and her mind didn't helped either. When he slowly leaned closer to her face without braking his deadly glare every word that wanted to came out of her mouth ran back to where they came from and stayed there while he groaned loudly and waited.

When he realised her "problem" then turned to his servant and told her to translate what he said for the guest then he groaned again looking at Marinette, when he stayed silent she turned to Rena.

- Master, wants to know the reason of your decision.- She let out a sight, understanding that those groans were supposed to be words. She took all of her braveness, faced him and said :

- I don't want to eat with a monster who keeps me like a hostage.- In this moment everyone froze, Rena, the ones that ears-dropped on the other side of the door.........even Chat. No one havd enough courage to speak up to him yet, here comes a human gir-woman and spoke up face to face against him.

There was a second silence before he yelled at her like a lion would but he was even more louder. But suprising everyone, even herself, Marinette stood at her place, closed her eyes while he was yelling then opened them when he was done but she never changed her serious expression. She was always kind and caring, in middle school some bully picked on her because they thought that she was weak, defendless, unable to fight back. But they weren't right, even more aged kids loved her and always helped her out, they thought her that no one is going to hurt her if she won't show weakness. That was the case now too, she needed to remained strong, brave so no one noticed that she was scard, that lesson never came as handy as now.

Chat stared at her in amesement, every human feared him, it was enough for them to take a look at him and they ran away like bunnys from  a wolf. But she isn't, she stayed still and looked at him straight in the eyes, it was interesting. He was the first to break eye-contact, he turned to Rena, groaned/spoke to her then tourned ack to the woman before him.

- He appriciet your braveness so he let it slide this time but only this time.- Rena translaed, he groaned again then left the room, Marinette could finally breath. She turned to face a very sad Rena who stood there silently, not even daring to look at her.

Finally when Marinette tried to speak, Rena interrupted her.
- He is right. In some ways, your stupid.- Rena didn't regreted what she said, she looked at Marinette with a very painful expression.
- I'm not stupid. I don't want to eat with him.
- But he aren't keeps you like a hostage. Your a guest, your free to leave.
- No, I'm not free! He would kill me if I leave!- Marinette had yelled, she couldn't understand the fearful expression on Rena's face but she didn't had to wait too long for the answer.
- He have killed humans. But only bad ones, who wanted to hurt us! Do you want us to get hurt?!
- No! Of course, not! But I wouldn't tell anyone about this place if he would let me go!
- He don't trust anyone! Sometimes he doesn't even trust us!
- I don't care who he trust! I wouldn't ever trust him! For god's shake, he wanted to hurt a sick little girl because she accidentally got here. I would never trust a filthy monster like him!- The last setence, she shouldn't have yelled so but she realised that too late.

Rena ran out of the room leaving a sad, hungry but mostly regretful Marinette behind. The others before her door knew it was the time to leave but some of them glanced back, wondering if she had really meant what she said. Unfortunetly, non of them had to wait for the answer.

I wrote this at home but I only post it now, when I'm at Malta.
