Waves

The refreshing breeze of the ocean whipped through my hair as Lace and I were taking a brisk walk on the sidewalk, right next to the beach.

"You know what's my favorite place here?" Lace asked me.

I raised my eyebrows. "What is it?"

"Follow me."

I followed him down the sidewalk and turned left into a narrow area, which was narrow because the city was doing construction right next to the sidewalk, and down some concrete stairs; in front of us was a bridge.

It wasn't a long bridge, I was able to see the end of it. Below on the left side were the roaring waves crashing on the pillars that held the bridge and to the right were lazy seals. That's right, sleeping seals.

"The seals can be pretty entertaining," he told me, walking down the bridge. "But don't expect them to balance a ball on the tip of their nose or anything."

I nodded my head. "Hm."

"The ocean is pretty wild over here." He looked down, holding on the railing for safety. "Take a look."

I looked down at the ocean. The waves were practically thrusting themselves against the waves. "It is pretty wild."

Lace nodded his head and began to walk towards the end.

I faced him strolling away from me to my right. "Wait, what are we doing here again?"

He didn't bother to face me or stop walking. "We're clearing our heads."

"Right." I did need my head cleared out.

I began to walk towards Lace when I felt the bridge creaking a bit. I froze in fright, hunching down.

Lace finally turned around. He looked down at me with concern. "Toosk, you okay?"

"I just felt the bridge moving," I  squeaked, not wanting to move a muscle.

"Must be a big wave." He shrugged.

"I think we should leave..." I gritted my teeth.

Lace chuckles. "Don't be afraid! Come on." He motioned me to continue on with him.

I felt the bridge moving again; this time, with more impact. "Did you feel that?" I lowered myself, having my shoulders crouched forward like a hunchback; my heart was pounding loudly.

"Yeah..." Lace bit his lip, gazing up high. "I think we should get go--"

BAM!!! SNAP!!!

The bridge began to tip over towards the left side, edging closer to the ocean.

The force brought me to my knees; I began to slide down the wooden flooring, getting splinters. I held on to the medal railing with my hands and feet as I hit the edge; at least I was still inside the bridge. "Erik!!!" I yelled over the creaking and crashing of the waves and bridge. "You okay!?!"

"I lost my shoe!" I heard him shout back to me.

I tried to lean forward to catch a glimpse of Lace, but I was afraid that the bridge would fall by me just looking at him. "Just try to get out of here!"

"Wow, wow, wow! Easier said than done, Mjalmersson!" I heard him call back to me.

"The bridge isn't moving!" I yelled. "Take the--"

I should've had said that. With one sickening snap, the bridge collapsed.

Oh my gosh...

I threw myself off the bridge so that I wouldn't get caught between the railing and get squash to death. I dove into the cold, salty water. I pushed myself up to the surface, sputtering and coughing while doggie paddling since I was such a bad swimmer. "Ack!" I turned around, looking for Lace, but the waves took me under. I pushed myself back up. "ERIK!!!"

"Hey!" Lace's head popped out from the surface. He smoothed his hair away from his face.

"Hey?! We were almost about to die and all you can say is 'hey'?!" I yelled.

"Whoa, whoa, Toosk, it's okay." He held his hands out at me. "We just need to swim to shore."

"Easier said than done there, Leifsson," I spat, giving the his words back to him. I then grabbed hold of his arm, trying to not let the waves take me under again.

Then I felt a force in the water trying to pull me under.

"Toosk, let go! You're gonna make me drown...!" Lace warned me with a raising voice.

"It's not my fault! I think something caught me!" I was now kicking my legs.

"LET. GO!"

Then literally the water in front of us spurted up towards to the sky in huge amounts, like a fountain. In the water, I saw an outline of a person.

I knew it someone was behind all this.

The fountain parted and the person was revealed: Andrew.

No. Way.

"ANDREW!" I screamed like a crazy person. "Mitä hittoa sinä teet?!" What the heck are you doing?!

"What the--what the heck?!" Lace looked at me weirdly. "Why are you speaking Finnish?"

I glared at him. "Why you have a problem with that?"

"I just never knew--"

A blast of water coming from Andrew hit Lace square in the chest; he got pushed into the water due to the force.

I looked back at Andrew. I immediately knew that this was not him, but Pierre.

I turned my hand into a gun and started shooting at him.

Shoot, shoot, shoot!

Andrew just extinguished the shots with his water powers.

I halted in my shooting. "Andrew!" I yelled again. "Kuuntele minua!" Listen to me!

"Hän ei ole täällä," Andrew answered back calmly. He began to form a huge water ball between his hands. He is not here.

I frantically tried to find something magnetic in him, but there was nothing magnetic on him.

Andrew was about to blast the water ball at me, but then he just stared at me with his bright, blue eyes.

"Andrew?"

Then he just fell into the water. Just like that. Like he was...dead.

"I did it!" Lace came back up, spraying water everywhere. "I got him!"

"You got Andrew back?" I asked him with surprise.

"No, I just drove Pierre out. But he'll come back soon." He was breathing hard. "Let us go before he reactivates him."
