She was alone, so was he.
They could be together
but they let it be.
They lived by themselves
in a world of their own
never giving love a chance
but the seed was sown
long before even their eyes had met.
She had already
made a place in his mind
and he couldn't erase the thought
even if he wanted to forget.

So he set out leaving his world behind
to explore the secrets
of that beautiful mind
he kept following the crumbs of bread
not realising
there was a dead end ahead
until he came upon a wall so high
he realised he couldn't cross
even if he had wings to fly.
But he had come too far to now back down,
far from the place
where cold winds blew
so now he knew the only way in
was to go right through.

So he put his mind to it,
to bring down the wall of pain
and of sorrow
brick by brick and break them to dust till there was none left
to build it back again.

Finally their eyes met
after the wall was done and dusted,
but all they could see was the reflections of their own.
Reflections devoid of sorrow or pain
because the seed of thought that had long been sown,
had grown into a feeling so divine
that they could care less about the shadows of the past,
become carefree,
and take a leap into the beautiful unknown.
