Chapter 6

Elaine's Pov

As soon as I reached their dorm room, I took a moment to relax. I was panting heavily for having run continuously for a few minutes.

I approached the door and knocked on it a few times.

“Just a moment” a voice came from inside. A moment later it was Holden who opened the door.

“Holden what happened to Arlo?!,” I asked in concern.

“I really don't know Elaine” he said remembering the incident. “I heard a loud thud in his room when I went there I found him fainted”

“Where is his room then?,” I asked him to show me the direction to his room.
“You won't find him there” he advised me” Arlo is resting in my room”.

“Your room” I was a bit confused.

“His bed was a way too messy for me to lay him there, so I carried him in my room's bed,” the bluenette replied.
“I bet he skipped sleep again” he let out a sigh.

“Wait a minute!!” I nearly shouted.” You mean to say that he is skipping sleep.”

“Yeah” he said a bit shocked at my sudden outburst.
“It's not the first time though” he shrugged it off as if it's no big deal.

“Why are you being so casual about it? You should have forced him to rest” I scolded him.

Holden ran his hand through his hair to ease the frustration he was feeling.

“Do you think I haven't tried. And even if I tried what makes you think that he is going to listen to me out of all people”.

He does have a point. Arlo hates it when people order him around and tell him what to do. He always did things in his way. It's one of the reasons why he and Seraphina never got along in the first place.

By the time we reached his room I could feel tense up.
I spotted him lying on Holden's bed.
He was breathing heavily and his face was red. There were dark circles under his eyes.

I approached him and put my hand on his head to check the temperature.
“Woah! He's burning up.” I exclaimed as I removed my hand. As expected, he has a fever.

“Holden can you bring my box along with water,” I asked him.

“Ah… Sure” he replied as he went to fetch the stuff.

I activated my ability and began to heal him. During healing him I noticed that there was a lot of paperwork kept on the desk some even contained the school news articles that are yet to be approved.

By the time I was finished I felt him relax. His breathing restored to normal, and he looked better than before.

As on cue Holden returned with the items, that I asked.

“Is he alright now?” he asked glancing at Arlo.”

“Even though the fever has gone his body will still experience the weakness from the fever” I explained to him.

“By the way Holden is it your work” I pointed towards the paperwork on the desk.

“Nah it belongs to Arlo. He still had to approve of the remaining news article for the school press” he said to me.
