Sam's Pov

My eyes widen at seeing her slim figure sitting with her legs crossed on what was supposed to be the doctor's chair.

She sat there, wearing black sweatpants with a loose fitted beige shirt, drawing something on a prescription paper.

She looked up and groaned.

"Oh man I was so off!" she huffs and rubs her forehead.

Not what I was expecting.

I was expecting something along the lines 'You again?!' or an insult in whatever language she used.

Does she not recognize me?

"Excuse me?" I finally reply in a cold tone.

Yes, I'm still quite upset about my car.

She gives out a resigned sigh and shows me the paper she was drawing in.

I step closer to where she's sitting and the frown on my face only deepens with confusion when I see what the drawing was.

On seeing my inability to decipher what the bloody hell she drew she turned the paper her way and looked at it once again.

"Why are you having such a hard time getting what my beautiful art is, I mean, it's quite obvious what it is, right?"

At this point I don't even know why I'm wasting time trying to figure out what the lunatic drew.

Also, she called that ... art?!

"It's you!" she finally reveals "Well in this case how I expected my doctor to be, see the old chubby balding man" she says while pointing at the circles and the few lines on top.

Okay, maybe she got lost on her way to her psychologist.

"I mean, how was I to know that this hospital had hot young doctors?" she exclaims. "That's totally not fair"

Is she for real?

"So, Miss Rodriguez. I see that you wanted to get a general check-up. Am I correct?" I try to appear not at all affected by her calling me -a total stranger- hot.

Is it a normal thing nowadays?

"Yep doc, and its Delilah." She smiled before starting to spin on the chair.

This does nothing good for my headache.

"Well then, I'm just going to start right away then. Please sit on the bed so I can begin, Miss Rodriguez" I said completely ignoring her request of me calling her by her name.

"Sure!" she winked and got up.

I rolled my eyes and started asking her basic questions such as, what was the reason she wanted to get a general check-up, to which she replied that it was required by her university.

University?

I thought this girl was in high school with how weird she was.

"I'm twenty-two, not sixteen, I thought y'all doctors checked patients' files before doing whatever you're doing" she suddenly said.

"I didn't say anything" is she a mind reader?

"You didn't have to say it, despite having the posture of a statue and the facial expressions of a rock... your eyes defy you"

My eyebrows rose half an inch and I looked at her to find her looking at me intently.

"Whatever" I sigh

I turn around to get a sterilized syringe while frowning a little at what she said about my..eyes?

"Could you pull up your sleeve I just gotta take a blood sample" I say while turning around to face her, and am surprised to catch her tense up a little.

"Huh. Someone's scared of injections?"

She looks puzzled for a moment but then she quickly covers it.

"Well, you seem too happy to have found my weakness" she laughs

She hesitantly pulls her sleeve up and extends it towards me.

I slowly hold her arm and start cleaning the area with a clean piece of cloth all the while looking at her with intrigue as she clenches her jaw.

"Relax, it won't hurt." I tell her when I notice that she's completely different from how she was a few moments ago.

Super tense.

No silly remarks.

And no eye contact, she's only staring holes at her extended arm.

She finally seems to snap out of whatever trance she was and a corner of her lips twitch.

"That's what all doctors say"

And she's back.

Bipolar disorder?

"So, how old are you?" she suddenly asked as I was starting to move the syringe closer.

"Twenty eight"

"Woah"

I look at her, silently questioning what's so fascinating. Again, I don't even know why I care, this is taking longer than usual, is she that scared of needles that she's stalling now?

"Well firstly, I didn't even think you were going to answer that"

I decide to use this as a chance to inject her seeing as she's distracted. And to my surprise, she doesn't even flinch.

Am I that good of a doctor or was she never scared of needles?

"And secondly, you're super young."

She notices that I'm done and quickly covers her arm with her sleeve in a rash manner then she smiles at me.

~~~~
"Well, that's it. You can come get your results tomorrow." I sigh while rubbing my forehead.
"Alright, thanks Doc, wont waste more of your 'precious time'" thank god "however I must advice you of something before I leave"
"Yes?" I sigh. Been doing that a lot lately.
"Try not to go drinking the day before your work, it's fun and all but has some nasty after effects, trust me, I would know" she winks before jumping off the hospital bed and heading towards the door.
My eyes widen at her words. Is it that noticeable? Did Jenny notice as well but was too kind to point it out? Do I look like a walking mummy?
Well there's only one way of knowing it.
"I have no idea what you're talking-
"Oh come on doc, it's not as obvious of course, but its clear as water to me."
She opens the door and starts heading towards the hospital's exit.
"Well, you be careful while crossing the road. We wouldn't want you getting into an accident" I say remembering our earlier incident.
She turns to me but remains walking away.
"If anyone should be careful, it should be the driver" she smiles and waves at me.
I watch her as she leaves and approaches a car.
I shake my head but can't stop the small smile that makes its way to my lips. This girl is indeed mad; however, she did manage to slightly lighten up my horrid mood.
A tall guy of brown hair gets out of such car and I watch as he approaches her and seems to tell her something before he bends down and kisses her.
Suddenly, my mood's not so lighten up anymore.
