Moving Day.

I was leaving Arizona to move with my father Charlie in a rainy town called Forks because my mother wants to travel the states with a minor league baseball player, my stepdad Paul, and I wasn't sure If I was happy about that yet.

I didn't bother with the casualties of 'oh mom I'm gonna miss you so' at the airport because to be honest I didn't feel like reminding myself I was moving, but then again I wasn't leaving anything in Arizona, didn't have a lot of friends here or potential lovers so later Arizona. Hello Washington.

I gave my mom and step dad a hug saying good bye and that I would call them.

I waited in a seat next to a bakery so that if I fell asleep the sweet smells of cake and icing would wake me up. I looked at my buzzing phone to see a message from my Mother already saying We love you! I sighed and typed I love you both back and set my phone on silent. The overhead announcer finally said that my flight was ready.

Walking on the airplane was nice, I could sleep and forget any of this was happening, not like it was the end of the world, just annoying. I found my seat in the middle, put my backpack in the overhead bin and sat down. I watched passengers enter with raincoat's on their arms, which reminded me that I probably should buy one.

Luckily for me the plane wasn't too packed so I ended up having all three seats to myself. I waited until we got in the air to unbuckle my seat belt and lay across. I slept instantly, thinking of Charlie, his fishing trips and weekend trips to the reservation to see my godfather Billy Black. . .

I woke up to the flight attendant lightly tapping my shoulder to tell me we'd be arriving soon and to put my seat belt on. I groggily obliged and got up to look out the little window. It was lightly raining, not much to have an umbrella which was good.

I grabbed my bag from the overhead as the plane descended, touching the ground safely.

Charlie was already waiting when I walked off the plane that I didn't even have a chance to pull out my phone and awkwardly call him. He was wearing his police uniform, his curly hair short and his moustache gone, which meant we'd be riding in the cruiser just like when I was younger.

"Bells" My father said quietly and hugging me tight to him. "It's good to see you again, you're all grown up!" He smelled lightly of cologne and home. I hugged him back tighter, fighting the tears in my eyes that I actually missed Charlie more than anything.

We stopped at a pretzel place in the airport, grabbing two big salty pretzels with extra sauce, and extra napkins before getting my bags at claim and going to Charlie's cruiser. The ride was silent, every now and then the dispatch radio would go mumble lightly, reporting a traffic light was out, or funeral service escorting.

"So.. how was the flight?" Charlie asked as we drove through Seattle.

"It was okay, I slept through most of it." I said and Charlie smiled.

The rest of the drive was silent, but it was good silent. A daughter reunited with her father silent.

We arrived at the 2-story house I'd been to in the summer until I turned 10. It still looked the same with its off blue paint, wide windows and trees around the yard. I missed it.

We got out, carrying my luggage out of the cruiser to the front door, Charlie leading the way and opening the door. It smelt like home.

When most of my luggage was upstairs Charlie let me unpack in my room and went downstairs. My room looked the same, a bigger bed, a computer and a dock to place my phone for music was the only addition. I idly wondered how good the internet access was.

I put up a few movie posters and posters of musicians I liked, started hanging my clothes in the closet and tested the Xmas lights I put around my bed.

I took a look around my room to make sure I was finished before putting my toiletries in my bathroom across the hall. I took a quick shower, letting the warm water run over me and then got out and changed into jeans and a sweater, tying my hair up in a bun and heading downstairs.

Charlie was watching TV in the living room, which was the one thing that transformed since I'd been here. The old couch was still here with blankets covering it, but the old square TV was replaced with a flat-screen on the wall, a DVD player and a few movies laying on the stand.

He smiled when I walked in and got up. "It's good having you here again Bells, I missed you''

"I missed you Dad'' I said awkwardly throwing my arms around him again for a hug. I wasn't normally the eager hugging type but it'd been so long since I'd seen Charlie that it worked up in me that I'd missed him more than I thought.

"Luckily for you the weekend just started" he said pulling back from the hug. "School starts this Monday"

Oh yeah. School. I wasn't exactly eager to be starting my Junior year in high school, but maybe I needed this fresh start.

"So, let's take you out to the old diner for some dinner huh?" He said as a peace offering for making me attend school

"Sure Dad" I said smiling at him. Maybe Forks wouldn't be so bad.
