Chapter One - The Beach

You wake up to sunlight streaming through your windows. Crap, you think. I forgot to close the blinds again. You roll over, not realizing how close you are to the edge of the bed. You fall off, smacking your face into the carpet. "Ow..." you mumble. You stand up, rubbing your face.

"Well, I guess I'm up now," you say, pulling on a hoodie over your tee shirt. Even though it's summer, your apartment is still chilly.

You walk to the kitchen to make your coffee. As it is brewing, you decide to get ready. You make up your mind to go to the beach, so you just put on some shorts and take off your sweatshirt. You do a bit of makeup and throw your hair up into a ponytail.

You go back into the kitchen to get your coffee. You are about to leave when-"Crap!" You run back to your bedroom to grab your phone and keys, pocketing them as you walk out of your apartment.

The beach is just a few minutes from your house so you decide to walk there. It is nice warm weather, perfect for going to the beach.

Before you know it, you're there. You sit on the sand, taking out your phone and earphones. You put some music on and close your eyes. You feel the sun on your face as you lay back on the sand. You smile. You haven't felt this good in a long time.

You soon find yourself waking up. "Huh?" you mutter, looking at your phone. "What the heck?! How is it two in the afternoon already?"

"I dunno, you're the one sleeping on the beach, not me. And... might want to put some sunscreen on next time. You're pretty red."

You're shocked to hear someone next to you. "Yah!" You look over to your side. You see a man who looks a bit younger than you sitting next to you. "Who the heck are you? And why are you watching me while I sleep?!"

"Relax," the man says. "I haven't been here for that long. And my name is Jungkook. You?"

You try to sit up, then groan in pain. "Here, let me help you," Jungkook says, gingerly taking your hand. You nod, wincing. He puts his other hand behind your back and sits you up. "Better?"

"Yeah... thanks," you say. "I'm L/N Y/N. Why are you here again?"

"I was just walking along the beach. I saw you and thought I might come and talk to you." Jungkook shrugs like this was a normal thing. Which it definitely wasn't.

"Um... okay? Well, we talked, so I'm gonna go now," you say, standing up. You start walking toward the ocean when you hear something.

BOOM! You look up to the sky. It was turning dark, fast. You look out over the ocean and see lightning. Bars of lightning, at the very edge of the horizon.

"Jungkook!" you say. "Come here! I want to show you something." He begins walking over to you, and you point to the horizon. "Do you see tha-"

Another lightning strike decides to interrupt you. "Y/N!" Jungkook calls. "Get away from the ocean! Now!" He sounds worried, but you are too fascinated by the bars of lightning to care. They mesmerize you and draw you closer. You begin to walk into the water.

"Y/N!" Jungkook calls again. "Look out!"
