The Princess and The Half Blood Prince

Welcome Back

-Author's note: Thank you to the poor souls reading this. This is my first ever fan fic and my first time writing in a long time-

Winter break was finally over. I preferred being in class or at least I preferred being busy. I wanted to keep my mind off Alex. Alex what have you gotten yourself into?

Gabby was chatting about how some girl in her herbology class had tried sneaking muggle weed into the mandrakes. I was only about half listening honestly. I didn't care about some idiot.

"Are you listening to me?"

I turned my head to her. "No sorry Gabs I'm really distracted."

"I'd be worried if you weren't, but as I was saying. I think I know a way to track Alex."

I looked at her like she had suddenly grown a second head. "You can what!?"

"I think. I'm not sure. I don't want to get your hopes up, but if he still has your crystal. I think I can track the wave length."

"You're brilliant! What do you need? When can we start?!" Salazar and Artorias both looked up at me cocking their heads.

"Meet me in the library right after last class." She gave me a discreet nod.

I nodded in return. We headed our separate ways to different classes. Classes lasted forever. Every time I thought a class was close to being over I would look up and five minutes would have passed.

I saw Severus give me a few curious glances. Normally I was his most attentive student, but I couldn't focus. Knowing that I could maybe find Alex. Knowing that I had a chance to save him.

:Flashback:

As the golem fell it said something.
"Where the moon meets the sky."

Then it crumbled into dust. I didn't tell anyone. I didn't even tell Severus. I told Salazar. Not that the wolf hound had much insight.

:end flashback:

What does it mean?!? The moon is in the sky. I know it didn't literally mean space travel. I growled at the potion I was making.
"Miss Greyson. I need to have a word with you after class."

"Yes sir." I loved talking to Severus, but why today of all days.

All the other students finally filed out of the room. Severus walked over and closed the door behind them. All we had really spoken of since the attack was potions and class. I honestly didn't know what to say at this point. All I wanted to do right now was run to meet Gabby.

"Are you alright?" The cold mask fading and genuine concern took its place. "You've been making some errors that I know for a fact you don't typically make."

I eyed the door. "I know. I'm sorry. I'm just having a hard time keeping my mind off Alex. I don't know what to do or how to find him or where to even begin to look."

He wrapped his arms around me. "I know Ira. I'm sorry." He placed a kiss on my forehead.

It was the first time he'd touched me or even really spoken to me since Christmas. I leaned in savoring it. I relaxed a small bit in his arms. It was one of the few times that everything slowed down and I didn't feel like the whole world was flying by without me.

"Gabby thinks she's found a way to track him." I pressed my forehead into his chest.

He stroked my hair. "Please don't do anything rash Mea principesa."

"I won't, Princeps." I looked up at him.

"Severus, I'm sorry about what happened." I took a small step back. "You don't have to pretend like you care about me. I understand if.." I cut off.

He looked at me softly. "I'm sorry if that's how I've made you feel. I lost the woman I loved because I was selfish and prejudice. I don't want to make that mistake again."

I threw my arms around him. "Thank you! Severus, thank you so much!"

He wrapped his arms around me. We stood like that for a few minutes. I breathed in his sweet scent. I buried my face into his chest. I could get used to this.

He finally broke away. "You better go see Miss Winters before she thinks I've trapped you in the dungeon."

I gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I'll see you later?"

"Yes. Detention at eight. Wear something warm." He gave me a flirty smile.

"Yes sir, Professor." I winked before walking out the door.

-Hey guys sorry this is so short. I just started a new job. I plan on being back on a consistent upload schedule by Monday. If all goes well I'll have another chapter or two up by Friday.
