From the spies we learned Hogwarts was mostly deserted. For the most part all that was left was a few six and seventh years from each house.  That wasn't going to help Voldemort and his army though. Harry Potter. The boy who lived had destroyed all but two of the horcrux. One laid wrapped around her master's feet like a scaly lap dog. The second. The second would be a great loss, but he will always be remembered as a hero. Potter himself.

I paced restlessly around our room. I needed to move. Needed to hit. Needed to fight. Severus stared out the window unseeing. He hadn't quite been the same since Voldemort referred to me as Lilly's replacement. Part of me wanted to believe it was just the stress of what we were getting ready to do, but part of me knew he questioning weather or not he had in fact just replaced Lilly with me.

"You still love her?" I finally stilled.

"Always." He sighed.

I wrapped my hands around his waist laying my head on his back. "That's ok. There's room enough for both of us. I would never ask you to forget her or stop loving her."

"I should though." He ran a hand through his hair. "I should have let go of her when she first denied me. Because she did love me. Just not the way I wanted her to. If I only would have listened to her. I could have been on the other side of this war. I could have maybe even been friends with the marauders eventually. If only I would have listened. Now I have a list of sins to long to count. Some of those even against her friends. People she loved. I...I don't deserve."

"Enough. You do deserve. You've made your mistakes. If you really want to atone for those, do things that will help fix those mistakes." I hugged him a little tighter. "I'll be by your side every step of the way."

Tears splashed my arms. "Thank you, Ira."

"I think I even know a good place to start after all this is said and done."

He turned giving me a broken smile. "The werewolf law."

"The werewolf law." I nodded.

Voldemort had a final meeting. The plans were all laid. He's an arrogant ass for someone who's been getting his ass kicked by three teenagers. I rolled my shoulders. Voldemort eyed me for a moment.

"You're ready?" He appraised my armor.

"Yes my lord." I bowed.

"Good."

The march through the forest was a long trek. Overall we were staying silent. This was after all supposed to be a surprise attack. To bad thanks to an anonymous red eyed owl Hogwarts knew we were coming.

Salazar let out a long howl. If Voldemort heard it he ignored it. Gabby had taken care of him for me. His howl was their alert to get ready for battle.

Severus stopped suddenly jerking up his sleeve. Voldemort was calling him.

"Stay. Do your part." He apparated.

I did indeed do my part. When the walls of Hogwarts came into view I attacked. The large ball of black energy grew covering half Voldemort's army. The screams as souls were ripped from their physical bodies filled the air.  Maybe two dozen attempted to attack me, but they couldn't blast through the shield.  When the screaming stopped I short dark energy out from my shield. Dropping the twenty four or so that had dared defy me before I apparated to the shrieking shack where Voldemort lay in wait for Harry Potter.

I slunk through the door trying to stay silent. Severus was on the ground.

"You have your mother's eyes." He rasped out to Harry.
