When the Shane Gang arrived at the nearby cavern, the entire area was in an uproar as the mysterious female slinger dueled. The moment the gang's mechas stopped, they all were rendered speechless. Not even a minute into watching her, and her moves rivaled that of the Shane's.
"Dude, she could give you a run for your money." Kord playfully elbowed Eli with a chuckle. Eli laughed a little, having looked at his friend before focusing back on the talented slinger.
"Her hair looks familiar..." Eli narrowed his eyes to see its sunflower-like coloration better somehow. As Eli continued to contemplate what he saw, the gang kept watching her duel. From back flips to summer-salts, she did it all and then some. Her choice of slugs matched her moves when it comes to variety, hitting her opponent with everything from an electric to a heavy hitter slug. She personally found it to be an advantage using wrist blasters over handheld, and used them beyond their expected full potential. When the match was finally finished, she'd won and threw her arms up in victory.
"And she's done it again, folks! Looks like no one can defeat-" the announcer cued the crowd to shout,
"The Masked Soldier!" Soon the champion put a hand to her ear, pretending she couldn't hear them.
"Say again, folks?" The announcer yelled.
"The Masked Soldier!!" The crowd boasted ten times louder as she bowed to them. She then began to walk off to her mechabeast, but ceased from riding away when she noticed the gang approach her. She simply sat on her mechabeast as Eli spoke up,
"Hey, that was some pretty good slinging out there. I'm Eli, Eli Shane." His introduction caused her to gasp, causing glances between the friends until she cleared her throat.
"They call me The Masked Soldier. Nice to meet you." She held out her right hand to shake hands with him, as her left one nervously played with her necklace. Eli curiously watched her figit, shaking her hand as Junjie asked,
"What is your real name, if I may be so bold as to ask?"
"I..," She hesitated at first, but then laughed when she noticed Kord gawking at her mecha beast.
"That, is the single most beautiful mecha beast I have ever seen in my entire life. If those wings actually work, I could cry right about now bro..." He finally spoke, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Thanks, I built her myself. Name's Prisma." The Masked Soldier proudly patted the wolf-like beast's neck.
"No way! You built her yourself?" Eli asked with a big smile, receiving a smiling nod from her.
"Now that, is cool. Nice work, love the paint job! I've never seen a starry-looking mecha before." Kord admired with a thumbs up. She giggled this time,
"Thank you. What are your names?" She wondered as Eli was taken aback by her giggle, yet again finding another quality about her that seemed to jog his memory.
"I'm Trixie, and this is Kord, Junjie, and-."
"Pronto the Great! Surely you have no need of introduction for me, I'm pretty legendary in these parts." Pronto boasted, standing up high and mighty on his mecha.
"Sorry," she shrugged, "I hadn't heard of you before." The others quietly laughed to themselves as Pronto sat back down with a grumble.
"How did you acquire your wrist blasters? Do you know slug-fu?" Asked Junjie. The slinger shook her head,
"I've never heard of that before. I conjured these up myself, after learning how things are made around here, that is. I tried using a regular blaster, but it just didn't seem to be my style." She admitted.
"Well I must say, you are quite talented and agile in using them. And you are a very skilled engineer." Junjie praised, finding it interesting she'd thought of using wrist blasters on her own.
"Thanks. My dad did always say I thought outside the box. Must've gotten it from him." She smiled under her mask.
"How about you come back to our hideout with us? We can hang out and get to know you better." Eli offered with a smile.
"I don't see why not." She smiled back to them, swiftly opening wings having been against the sides of her mecha beast wolf. "Lead the way guys." She commented as the group just stood there with jaws dropped.
"Can it be true?" Kord's eyes went wide with a giddy smile on his face. The Masked Soldier laughed softly,
"Um, hello?"
"Oh, yeah. Right." Eli chuckled as he and the others eventually turned around and began leading the way back home. The champion's mecha beast glided with such ease above their heads, grabbing their attention now and then. At one point she lowered herself just above them, gliding upside down and smiling at them. The gang laughed in reaction, keeping an eye on her as she soared close by.
"Seriously dudes, that is one tricked out mecha. It's the first one I've ever seen be able to fly. She's gotta show me how she engineered hers that way." Kord couldn't stop obsessing over Prisma the whole way home.
