Chapter 1 First Glance

     It all started a couple weeks ago that’s when everything got all weird and freaky to say the least. It was a normal day at school and I was in gym class playing dodge ball. My form of playing doge ball was hiding behind the biggest/ strongest person until you’re the only one left then show your skills. This day though as I said before was just weird to me. “So did you hear about Jen’s camping trip”, Skie asked me as she dodged a ball that almost hit her in the head.

            “Yeah I heard about it, does that mean I’m going? Absolutely not”, I said. Skie giggled as she looked up from her phone that she hid in her outfit. “Skie aren’t you gonna get in trouble if the gym teacher sees that”, I asked. “Who am I going to get in trouble by?

            Mr. Johnson, ha he doesn’t do shit”, Skie said. There’s one thing that I forgot to mention about Skyler (Skies’ real name) she was the queen of all bad asses and everyone tried to be like her. Yet whenever she got in trouble in her academic classes the teachers never believed it because Skie was a good kid. Our gym teacher Mr. Johnson blew the whistle and we went to the locker rooms to change back into our everyday attire. I walked back to the locker room with Skie because she and I always got dressed in the same area.

            “So anything new I should know”, I asked when we finally got to where we get dressed. “Eh not really Tyler’s been blowing up my phone. That’s about it”, Skie said. I shook my head and tried not to snicker. Tyler was Skies’ twin brother he was the funny odd kid out of them; but he was just as cool as his sister.

            I changed out of my outfit and then put on the one that I had on earlier. I then took my phone off the charger and waited on Skie. Skie did the same thing as me and changed back into her original outfit. We then grabbed our gym bags and walked out the locker room. “Oh well that’s interesting”, Skie said.

            “What is”, I asked looking at her weird. “According to captain loud mouth we have an assembly to welcome the foreign exchange students. Apparently Haylee knows them all and one is supposedly her brother”, Skie said. Captain Loud Mouth was code name for Haylee. It was something that Skyler started because Haylee sometimes never shut up.

            “Oh wow that is interesting I guess. Do you believe it”, I asked. “I ain’t believing shit till I see it for myself. Haylee might think she knows everything and been everywhere; but bitch that don’t mean I believe everything that comes out your mouth”, Skie said. Skyler and Haylee were friends yes; but Skie didn’t believe fifty percent of what Haylee said unless there was truth behind it.

            The bell rung and we walked out of gym. The next place was lunch where we would meet up with everyone; but first Skie and I wanted to grab our normal back packs. We went to our lockers and then did what we needed to do. When I got to mine I put in the combination and then grabbed my stuff and headed to lunch. When I got into the cafeteria I put my stuff down in my chair at our table and walked over to the lunch line.

            I didn’t feel like eating much today and I wasn’t sure as to why; but I’d be ok. I walked over to the salad bar and made one of my favorite things. All lettuce, with ranch dressing, bacon bits, shredded mozzarella cheese, ham chunks, and croutons that tasted like garlic bread. I then grabbed a little plate of lasagna and some garlic bread and a mountain dew livewire and got in the line to pay for my stuff. When it was my turn I pulled out a twenty dollar bill and gave it to the lady at the register.

            She gave me my change and I walked back to my table. On the way there I tripped over someone’s foot; but before I fell on my face the person grabbed me and steadied me. “You alright”, the person asked. “Yeah I’m fine. I didn’t bust my head open so that’s a good thing”, I said.

            “That’s good I wouldn’t want to trip a lady and cause her to hurt herself”, the person said. I looked at the person and to be honest I’d never seen him before. Maybe he was one of the new kids that Skie was talking about; but then again I was with Skie on this one. I wasn’t going to believe it till I saw it or at least had some proof behind it. “Haha I would’ve been ok.

            I fall down a lot “, I said blushing in embarrassment. “Awe well maybe you should be more careful. Princesses don’t fall down. I’m Louis by the way, what’s your name”, the boy said. “I’m Alexandra nice to meet you”, I said with a smile. “Same to you would you like to sit with us”, Louis asked.

            “I would; but I’m going to sit with my friends. Maybe next time”, I asked with a hopeful smile. “Sure, so I’ll see you around”, Louis said. That wasn’t a goodbye per say it was more of a question. Obviously I wasn’t sure if I’d ever see him again so I had to be honest.

            “Maybe”, I said with a smile. I then walked over to my table and Tristan (Kristin’s Twin), Tyler, Cassandra, Jayden (Cassandra’s brother), Jen, Haylee, Alison, and Skie were all looking at me weird. “What”, I asked confused. “Why are you blushing”, Skie asked. “Well I met someone and I think I like them”, I said.

            I sat down and then they all said at the same time, “Tell me everything”. I was in total shock because well…I didn’t think that anyone would be interested in what was going on; but hey I wasn’t one to complain I was just confused.
