but the thunder seems to have offended you today.
as you sit there with your hands tight over your ears, screaming your lungs out,

i wonder if you hate to think that the sky is louder than you tonight.

i wonder if you're screaming because you want to show it you can do more than that.

why are you screaming?

you won't come inside, but the rain drops seem to burn your skin.

you won't speak a thing, and it's getting harder with the screaming.

you start coughing suddenly. so hard that I can feel your lungs giving up.

and when you fall on your face,

i try to pick you up. with all the strength I've ever had.

but you push me away.

and start screaming again.

on the ground.

with the rain still burning your cheeks.
and your lungs still wanting to let go.

and for the first time since i saw you like this,

i wonder if it finally is getting out of my hands.
