Tara

All night I couldn't sleep. I kept on thinking about what was going to happen tomorrow. The details of my plan was drilled inside my mind.

I had practised what I would say and also the different scenarios I may encounter. Being a night courier was effortless to me as it required little to no confrontation with people. All the details and conversations were taken care of by my assistant.

But meeting Dom Suarez was something that I had not expected to occur so soon. Suddenly I heard footsteps and opened my eyes. The sky outside was dark, it seemed like it was early hours of the day.

"Can't sleep?" I heard Nate's deep voice.

I didn't answer. Why was he talking to me now.

"I know you're angry at me. Sorry I was out of line before."

I still didn't reply.

"Fine be angry. But you shouldn't have talked to him like that. "

"Like what?" I ask angrily.

"You don't know what effect you have on men. "

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"You're beautiful Tara and this is a mean world. People like David would use you and damage you. Be careful."

"And you Nathan? What will you do?"
I ask, shook by what he said. My mind still stuck on beautiful. The way he said that just made my core turn liquid.

"I wish I could be your hero, I wish I could save you from this." Sighed Nate.

"Why are you telling me this now?"

"Because Tara we are meeting Dom tomorrow and maybe this is the last sunrise I see."

"Never say that." I say, flinching at the hopelessness in his voice.

"Tara, there is a secret I never told you..... I..."

But I never got to know what he wanted to tell me for at that moment the lights were turned on and I saw David leaning lazily against the wall.

"I see you love birds are up and early. Planning for the big day ahead?"

It was strange how quickly David changed his demeanour. It was like flicking a new channel every now and then.

Sometimes he was a sour man, sometimes an asshole but sometimes he could be a gentleman. The switch was so sudden that it was almost unsettling.

Nate

She looked so beautiful as the moonlight hit her face. It was as if she was an ethereal creature glowing from within.

She had been struggling in the couch, turning every ten minutes and making a rustling sound with it.

It seemed she was also as stressed about tomorrow as he was. Only God knew what would happen tomorrow.

I asked if she was having trouble sleeping. No reply.

Serves you right for being a dick Nate.

At that moment he decided, he would tell her everything. Not only his secrets but his feelings for her too. To hell with the assignment. He might not even be alive tomorrow.

But Tara must know, what he had been doing to her, what he was planning to do. And what he felt for her.

"Tara, there is a secret I never told you..... I..."
