I took a look at my best mates. We all looked at the big, cheering crowd in front of us. Me, Calum and Michael turned around, waiting for Ashton to hit the drumkit as start sign. We nodded to ash. We got ready to begin. Ashton started counting. '1, 2, 3, 4!' he slammed the drumsticks down and we started playing the intro of one of our newest songs. It felt amazing. The adrenaline was rushing as an apocalypse through my veins. Everything was perfect... Suddenly, there was a screaming voice, calling my name, something about breakfast...?

I shot up from my pillow.

'LUKE! FOR THE LAST TIME! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE AND MAKE US BREAKFAST! MATT CAN'T DO IT HIMSELF!!'

Uh-oh...

I jumped out of bed, rushed down the stairs all the way down and ran into the kitchen. I already had passed my stepmother on my way through the living. 'Lucas! What took so long. You know that (blah blah blah) and it's your duty as stepson and stepbrother to (blah blah blah)!' she rambled on. I barely heard her words because of how fast and mad she talked. She kept on rambling, while I finished the scrambled eggs and toast with Vegemite for Matt. I put the food on a clean, white plate and shoved it onto the kitchen table. Just in time 'cause Matt came in. My stepmom walked out, and I sighed, wiping the sweat away from my forehead which had formed because of the pressure. Matt just looked at me, eating and with a judgy look. I wanted to make a snappy remark, but instead, I made myself a slice of bread with Vegemite and began eating it as I walked upstairs to my room on the attic.

I quickly dressed in something decent for today, which is; blink-182 shirt, black skinny jeans, black Vans. Very comfortable, but okay for just another school day. Ugh, school. But, at least I get to see my friends at school. That's the most fun part of school. Yeah, without any doubt it is. I quickly got in my lip ring and grabbed my denim jacket. I slipped it on and stuffed my books for today in my backpack. I slung it over my shoulder, grabbing my car keys and walking downstairs. I brushed my teeth, washed my face properly and made myself some lunch in the kitchen. I put everything in my backpack, seeing it was almost time for me to go. Thankfully, I already made some lunch for Matt yesterday, so I didn't had to do it now. Matt wasn't eating in the kitchen anymore, so I suggested he went back to his room again. 'Matt!' I called out. He almost stumbled down the stairs. He was kinda... lazy. Yeah, lazy it is.

'Lets go Lucassss.' he dragged out my name. I just rolled my eyes without anyone seeing it, yelling "goodbye" to my stepmom as I handed Matt his backpack with all of his stuff in it for today (I had put it in there, since that was my "duty", like my stepmom always said). We got out of the house, inside my car and I drove us both to school. On the way to school my stepbrother only complained about school, teachers and "annoying" kids, which he sometimes called "nerds". One time, he called one of my friends a nerd. I almost slapped him, but I knew he would go cry out in his mommy's arms, so I kept my mouth shut and my hands to myself. He's not even worth the trouble I get for slapping him, I guess, because I never have slapped him before. Ever.

We arrived at school. He quickly got out of the car, walking over to his "cool" friends which all were popular jocks. Just like him. Yes, he is popular. How? This world is so weird I guess.

I shut off the engine, got out of the car, locked it and waited just behind the gates for my best friends; Michael, Calum and Ashton.
