School just had ended. It had been quite a boring day. I spent my time during lunch with my best friends, and with some other classmates. I had some periods together with my friends, but the rest of the day was just plain boring. I took some notes, but mostly drew little figures in my notebook. I drew some weird monsters or creatures, more cartoon figures and I drew some veggies. Why veggies? I have no idea. I guess I was hungry for veggies...?

After the teacher dismissed us, I rushed to my locker. It was late already and I had to pick Matt up from his football training, plus I had to cook dinner and well, if I wasn't finished with those two things by the time I should be, my stepmom would be mad. I didn't want her mad. She was scary enough already the way she was, leave alone what she'd look like when she was mad.

I said a short, quick and fast goodbye to my friends and drove my car out of the gates. I drove for about 15 minutes until I reached the football field. I saw Matt was already waiting for me. He stepped in when I stopped the car in front of him.

He huffed. 'You're late.' so much alike to his mother... 'Yeah, I know, fasten your seatbelt so we can get home.' I said, already driving out of the parking lot of the football club. With another huff, Matt fastened his seatbelt as I stopped for a red light. When it went green, I speeded away, but not over the limit.

I quickly parked the car in front of the house. I took a look at the time. Okay, I've got about 50 minutes left. Yeah, the ride to the house was supposed to be short, but guess what? It was my luck, 'cause the way I always take to get home fast was closed because of a crack in the road or something. Not my luck. I rushed inside the house, but quietly so my stepmom wouldn't get mad at me for disturbing the house it's "peace" or whatever she meant by saying that two months ago. I quietly turned on the radio. A song by a band named Fall Out Boy was playing. It sounded good, to be honest. While humming along to easy rhythms and tunes on the radio, I start cooking some pasta with tomatoes and cheese. It was a quite simple dish and one of the meals I wouldn't let burn for sure. Yeah... I was not that great at cooking ya know, but since it was another "duty", she said, I needed to do it. Ugh.

After 40 minutes I finished cooking and set the full plates with warm food on the table in the dining room. We mostly ate breakfast in the kitchen, and the rest of the meals in the dining room. I walked over to the living room.

'Stepmother, dinner's ready.' she just completely ignored me, or so I thought since she didn't react, just kept on reading some book. When I was about to walk into the dining room again, she called me back.

'What did you make for dinner?' she asked, while slowly, carefully placing the book on the coffee table. 'Pasta with tomatoes and cheese ma'am.' I said. She always wanted me to speak politely to her. She didn't say anything, just stood up, straightened her skirt and followed me into the dining room.

While she sat down, I walked into the hallway, standing next to the stairs. 'Matt! Dinner's ready!' I yelled. 'Coming!' he yelled back. After a minute or so, Matt came into the dining room as well and sat down on his usual seat. I also sat down at my usual spot, the end of the table. My stepmom sat in the middle, Matt on the other end and we all ate in silence. My stepmom was the first to finish, since she barely had anything on her plate. It's not that I didnt cooked enough food, but she just never wants a full plate because she wants to skinny and she's on some kind of dieet. I don't know.
