Kara leaped into her room as if she were dancing ballet. Her face glowed with her pearly whites showing. There was no happier feeling she could possibly have. Kara tossed herself onto her bed to lay down and face the ceiling, limbs spread out. Cari pulled herself into the room, being pulled in by Kara's happy vibes.

"What's got you all perked up?" She asked still standing.

"I met a boy."

"Mrs. 'I'm too busy to have an immature teenage boyfriend' met a boy? That she likes even?" She taunted. Kara picked half of her body up from her soft mattress and turned to face Cari.

"I'll have you know that he goes to a different school. I don't know why, but we just sort of had this... connection." Kara's face looked puzzled for a second but then released into contentment.

"Yeah, that usually what happens when you talk to some you like."

"No, I mean physical connection. Like I felt a magnetic pull before we even talked."

"Kara? What are you doing at my work? You never visit." Skylar started out excited but trickled into concern. Kara folded her hands in front of her as she made her way closer to Skylar.

"I was just here to see my bestest friend."

"You seem in a chipper mood. It's not my birthday and you never visit me because you're a hermit. What's the real reason?" Skylar gasped, shielding her mouth which was obviously in a smile. "Are you with the guy who you met at the party. Kara's eyes gazed over to Adam. They were wide as she didn't know how to cover her lies.

"Oh, you mean my boyfriend?" She replied. It slipped out like butter, butter you wish wasn't as messy as those words. However, it was the perfect cover-up. Kara looked over at Adam once again, this time to check if he was listening. His face was fastened onto the computer.

"Ohhh" She cooed. Kara then focused on her surroundings.

"Quiet down. We're trying to keep it on the down low before making any serious decisions." Skylar grinned from ear to ear before walking away, mumbling something about Kara being a go-getter. Once Skylar was out of range, Kara quickly opened her bag and yanked the tape recorder out. It developed a light glow of purple around it's dark blue and gray shell. How do I even use this? She pondered as her fingers fiddled with the buttons. It looked and felt like a normal recorder. The buttons were slow to push and the window revealed an old cassette. Finally, someone passed by causing the item to expand its purple glow. Kara's eyes expanded in awe. She twirled the recorder around people in which made it glow much more. However, she didn't know how to tell who was a witch and who was human. On the other hand, she did know that she needed to pee.

The stalls looked cramped compared to the miniature mirrors that faced them. There seemed to be only two other people who dared to step into these stalls. The door lifted up to just about the middle of a 5'9 foot women's calves and the top of the door would uncover the roots of her hair. Luckily, but unluckily, Kara was about 5'5 almost 5'6. Her whole calve was shown, yet her head was just barely hidden. As she fled into one of the stalls, Kara looked at the recorder once more. This time the glow flashed eagerly. It slipped from her fingers as she, frantically, tried to handle it. Kara swiftly picked it up before the recorder could fill up the bathroom anymore. She ran out of the bathroom and stuffed her voice recorder back into the bag.

Minutes later, a short, thin girl sauntered out of the bathroom. She had thick, red bangs that barely scraped her thinly plucked eyebrows. The girl pushed out the wrinkles of her pink skirt before Kara jumped to her vision.

"Hi, um are you familiar with the term 'witchcraft'?" The pigtailed girl nodded slowly trying to catch herself.

"How familiar?" Kara bent face to face with the girl.

"Let's just say, I've been studying it quite often." They both grinned while making deep eye contact. Kara pulled the girl's hand on her way to Adam, the one who knew lots more about magic. She introduced herself as Joan Clarke. Kara finally let go of Joan when they reached Adam's desk. She threw out her arms and wiggled her fingers to present the newly found witch. Adam looked up in pure boredom. "Good job, Kara you made a new friend. Can I get back to work?" He tilted his head down before she could answer. Kara flopped her arms and dropped her smile. Then she scooted closer to him to lift his head back up with her index finger.

"No. I found a witch." She whispered, "A real one who can help us... I think."

"You think?" He raised an eyebrow. Kara made a face at Joan that signaled confusion yet reassurance.

"Do you think you can help us?" Joan shuffled her feet together and apart, tying her hands behind her back with her short fingers.

"Well, what's the problem?" So, Kara explained it. Just like she had with Theo, down to every last detail. It wasn't the smartest idea since she was just a stranger. However, Kara was determined to get her family back as quick as she could.

That night, Kara laid in bed with a smile. She had never been more happy to be able to taste the freedom of her family from the jail of death. But, it all turned to ashes when her mind wandered. The screaming horrors of everyone in pain flushed her eyes with panic. Blood everywhere. She could pick it up in between her hands and let it go through her fingers. All the while her ears were drowned out with pleads of mercy yet no mercy to come. Her scream called in Theo to run into her room.

"Kara? Kara!" She heard but didn't answer. He shook her to reality and held her. Kara wiped her tears on her sleeves recalling her nightmares to him. "Don't worry, it's over now. It's over now."
