"tae, i don't think that's three centimetres," she mumbled, staring at the chopped up green onions, "i also don't think we need that much."
he looked at his work for a few seconds, stopping his actions and glancing at her with a sheepish smile, "we don't?"
she giggled and shook her head, "no, we don't."
he scratched the back of his neck and placed the knife aside, gazing around for a container to store them. after rifling through a cupboard, he pulled one of suitable size out and proceeded to scrape some of the green onions, also known as scallions, into it.
it has been a good week since they went out to the movies with jungkook, and now the two were cooking dinner at his house for jungkook as well as them while he studied for an upcoming test in his room. originally, it was just taehyung making the meal, but then he realised he couldn't cook so he called her, asking if she could help. she agreed after a few laughs and came over straight away.
"y/n," he called, tilting his head as he read the recipe off his phone, "how do you cut something sideways?"
"sideways?" she echoed, glancing at the screen as she skimmed over it quickly before letting out a soft chuckle, "tae, it means slanted," she took the knife and demonstrated to him before letting him take over, "like that."
"oh," he mimicked her way of cutting, watching as a similar result appeared from the vegetable. he turned to her, "as you can see, i'm not the best at cooking."
she laughed.
within an hour, a whole meal for the three friends was ready. tae knocked on jungkook's door and disappeared into his room, appearing a few minutes later with him wheeling the younger over in a chair while he kept on reading the textbook he was holding.
y/n took the book from him and set it on the kitchen counter, away from his grip.
"noona," he whined, "i need that."
"you've been studying for the past two hours, i think you're good for the test," she told him, pushing a plate full of food towards him.
"yea kook, you're ready," taehyung said, grabbing his own plate.
he sulked, "you guys are starting to sound like my parents."
"yea, listen to your appa, eat," tae grinned cheekily as y/n laughed.
he let out a small chuckle and obliged, his portion of food getting smaller and smaller as his hunger reappeared and he downed the meal appreciatively. soon, he grabbed his plate and placed it in the dishwasher, bowing towards them, "thank you for the meal, hyung, noona."
they waved him off and she passed him his textbook as he retreated back to his room, "good luck kookie."
then, they finished up, placing their cutlery and plates in the dishwasher as well before resting on the couch with the tv on. she scrolled on the phone while he watched the show intently, which happened to be a k-pop idol performing live.
she glanced up and a small smile made its way to her face as she realised how into the show he was, but she nudged him out of the trance he was in, causing him to hum in response and look to her.
"my lecturer gave me an assignment," she started, "i need a full on twenty pictures that i took, and my theme is people with nature."
he nodded as he processed the information.
"so, i need a model. i would ask someone else, i know how busy you are, but yoon hates modelling, hobi is at work a lot, jiwoo has to handle the cafe, and kook has the exam," she took a breath and gave him the largest, pleading eyes she could pull, "please?"
he shrugged, "sure, why not."
she blinked in surprise, "really?"
"yea, why, did you think i was gonna say no?"
"kinda, i mean, you'll have to spend hours out doing the same pose over and over again, not to mention the fact the weather could be really bad, also-"
"y/n," he cut her off, "i'm taking an idol course, we have endless hours of training in front of cameras. i think i'll be fine."
she smiled, "thanks taetae."
he grinned and ruffled her hair, "no problem little y/n."
