I looked at the mirror one last time to check if I am already satisfied with my look. The white dress is really gorgeous.
I wore the white dress that Aunt M made and it fitted me perfectly with my brown hair cascading on my shoulders.
You look amazing...
I flushed at the memory.
"Honey! are you ready? We'll leave in five minutes." Mom peeked inside my room, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I gave her a warm smile and nodded. "Yes, mom." and went out the room with her.
I wonder what Tyler would look like? He'll look perfectly handsome, Lianne. Yeah, yeah. I'll keep that in mind.
"Mom, where's dad?" I asked when I noticed that dad isn't in the living room.
"Honey, you look gorgeous! My little baby is all grown up now." Mom almost cried seeing me wear this outfit. I guess she just don't see me often wearing nice dresses.
"Oh, I forgot to tell. He's alredy at the party." She explains after I kissed her cheeks. Oh. Well, that explains it.
He went ahead of us because of some business partners that he has to deal with.
"Alright then." I said and we walked down the stairs. "Mom, is Tyler at their house?" I asked. "He told me that we should go ahead, dear. Lena must be with him." Mom explained and gave me a smile. Oh, well. Aunt Lena must have missed his little boy so much.
---
Where's Tyler? that guy, he hasn't showed up yet and I've been waiting at our table for like thirty munites now!And Boredom monster is eating me! I hate this party. So dull and every one is chatting like they've known each other their entire life! like seriously? and I hear from some of them, boasting about their kids being models, rising stars and stuff.
Its a social gathering, Lianne. Everyone's is supposed to chat. So much for reminding me that.
After waiting for half an hour, I decided to leave the table for a while and walk around.
I wonder where Tyler is? Damn it, Lianne. Could you stop thinking about him for just a minute and find a good spot to be in?
"LIANNE!" I heard a familiar voice. I turned to see who it was and saw Ella. I walked to where she was and hugged her.
After we parted, I asked for where Tyler was and she answered me this "Oh, my dear cousin? I think I saw him with Daphne a while ago."
I just nodded. "And who is Daphne...?"
"Daphne Crimson. Daughter of Mr. George Crimson. You forgot?" Ella explained.
Oh. How can I forget if I still haven't heard of her? I wish I listened to Ella when she was blabbing about the companies' business partners.
"Right...And where are they?" I asked with a glint if annoyance. I am nervous, afraid that she might notice something.
"Oh, they're in- woah, wait. Are you jealous?" She stopped speaking, midsentence and smirked. "You're face turned red." She added.
"Nah, don't worry. I don't like Daphne for him." Um?
Wait...are they dating or something?
"They're dating?" I asked. Completely shocked. Now I'm mad.
"I don't know, man. But they're like, touching eachother's hand." What the heck....!?
"Seriously?" I just frowned. But do I have the rights?
"Yeah? but don't go all jealous, okay?" Ella said and pulled me into a reassuring hug. " 'kay." I said as she let go.
*ring*ring*
her phone suddenly rang. She answered it.
"Hey, mom?...yeah, just wait a sec...bye." then she looked at me. "Um, mom's calling me over. See you around." she said giving one last smile then left.
When Ella is out of sight, I felt my face burning. I am fuming, mad. And I have three reasons for that.
First, Tyler ditched me at our table. Second, he didn't inform me that he is now dating someone. And third, is because I'm such a sissy for not telling him how I feel.
But I'll find them and...and.
What are you gonna do, Lianne? shush.
and let my instincts take over. bestfriend instincts maybe? ouch.
I calmed myself by walking around the venue. God, I don't know what to do. I sighed. "Deep thoughts?" Someone interrupted my thoughts and chuckled. I looked for the source of the voice and saw Blake's older sister.
"Yeah...kinda." I mumbled and gave her a smile. "Would you mind if I come along?" She asked. "Sure. Why not." I agreed and we started walking by the pool side. It's still not crowded here, people must still be inside the hotel.
"You know," she started. "Hm?" I turned my head to her. " I can't help but notice her long, brown hair shine through the moonlight. She looked Asian. I thought about Blake having blonde hair and so are their parents.
"I thought Tyler and you are already together." She said, smiling. I gave her an incredulous look. "What?" I asked chuckling and shook my head.
"What's funny? I'm telling the truth." She said and we took a seat on the nearby chairs, prepared by the table.
I just sighed and gave her a deprived look. We fell silent for a while. Impassiveness evident on our faces.
She looked at me with a reassuring smile after a while of staring down at the deep, blue water ahead of us. I exchanged hers with a confused one.
"Why do you keep on smiling?" I asked her and she just chuckled. "All of us should be full of hope, Lianne." What is she talking about?
"You should not be giving up on something that you know you deserve." She added and just when I was about to talk, someone hollered from afar.
"Lianne!" I know that voice very well but I didn't dare to look back. For all I know is that, right now, I needed to get away.
