PART ONE OF CHAPTER SEVEN - CLICHE, CORNY STUFF & BODY HEAT.

I closed my eyes as I felt the cold, summer night breeze pass through me. I felt tingles all over me and a shiver ran down my spine. I guess, wearing a formal cocktail dress and going to the beach doesn't make the best combination.

"Here, put this on." He instructs and placed his coat over my shoulders, I did as what I was told. He must've noticed my shiver. I just gave him a genuine smile because, really, this guy is such a gentleman, I can tell.

I felt my cheeks heat up at the simple gesture. Then I remembered something, the thought of me having a crush on him when we were still in gradeschool made me feel....I don't know? I can't quiet describe it.

But it made me smile nonetheless. "Hey, what's with the smile?" He asked grinning back and I don't know, really. But my heart felt this kind of feeling wherein just by seeing him smile made it so happy that the joy could be contagious.

I just laughed, "Nothing," I looked down at the sand and scribbled some nonsense things on the surface. We were seated at an old log that must have been washed by the waves to the shore.

"So..." he trailed off, not knowing what to talk about anymore. We've been talking and laughing for about half an our now, and it's ironic how I didn't feel awkward towards him but instead it's more like we've known each other for so long; I felt comfortable, knowing to myself that I had a silly crush on him before.

"So, what now?" I asked, the sound of crickets and waves splashing resonated the surrounding.

I looked up to see the stars shining above us, illuminating the night sky and an idea popped inside my head.

"Well, since my butt got tired of sitting around, I might as well play with the water." I said a tad joyfully. Well, I sounded like a child. What the eff.

He chortles but stood up and went with me to the shore. I removed my stilettos along with Blake's coat and put them near the log for it to not be wet, he did the same but didn't follow me into the water.

I slightly squealed when the waves touched my bare feet, the water was ice-cold but I still went until the water was an inch below my knee. If it weren't for the dress, I'd go deeper because I loved beaches so much. The wounds stung a bit but I could manage.

I looked at Blake and caught him staring at me, I squinted my eyes because of the wind and locks of hair were sticking to my face.

"Hey, aren't you gonna come?" I made my voice louder for him to hear because he was still standing near the old log.

He walked towards me, keeping eye contact but he stopped before the cold waves could touch his feet.

"Nah." He answered, putting his hands inside his pockets and looked around. Gosh, why does he look so hot by just doing that? His dirty blonde hair was tousled because of the wind and some of it fell above his eyes, making him look so handsome wearing his tux, and boy, did it make my hands itch to touch his hair from the very beginning.

"Earth to Lianne." I didn't realize I was drooling before I heard Blake guffaw and I felt my cheeks immediately heat up because of embarrassment. I quickly wiped the sides of my mouth to check if there's still any visible saliva and good thing there isn't.

"Uh-I..." I didn't know what to say after that. I looked anywhere but him. Either I just wanted to magically disappear right now or to be swallowed whole by the waves.

And as if the water is against me, I shrieked, fearing that I'd be all wet.

You'd think that he had catched me before the strong waves hit my legs and made me tumble ? No, he didn't instead I heard him doubled in laughter when my whole body made contact with water and made a loud splash.
