I woke up on my bed feeling awfully nauseous. I was shivering even though I knew it wasn't that cold. Suddenly I was hit with flashes from my dreams, or were they memories? A chill rolled down my back and I reached up to touch my neck that was extremely sore. I stumbled to the bathroom mirror and saw... nothing. A wave of relief rolled over me. I went carefully down the stairs to look for Scout. She was asleep by the front door. I kneeled down and stroked her head. She awoke with a start, but after seeing it was me started wagging her tail. I smiled and got up to turn around when she leapt in front of me, growling fiercely.
"Good evening, beautiful," said an alluring voice behind me. It was a man about 6'3", not much older than I was. He had sandy blond hair and was a porcelain shade of white. Those stormy grey eyes cut through to my soul. To be honest, I have not seen very fine men in real life, but this one was fine. However, I soon remembered the events that took place here in this hallway and I became frightened again.
His hard composure softened ever so slightly when he saw I was afraid. He took one step toward me and Scout let out a warning yip. She was big, but she was still a puppy, and therefore not very intimidating.
"Hush," he said sternly, making Scout whine and lower her head. He strode over to me, putting a hand under my chin.
"What is your name?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing," I was shaking and you could hear it in my voice.
"Do not be afraid my sweetness." He replied smirking.
"I promise not to hurt you any more. At least, not for a while." He dropped his hand and went into my living room. Not knowing what else to do I followed him with Scout trailing close behind me. He had made himself comfortable on my couch, propping his long legs on my brand new coffee table. That irritated me. (Even though I do the same thing. It's different when it's a stranger okay!!) I cleared my throat.
"My name is Elizabeth and as the owner of this house I order you to leave at once," I said, a little dramatically I'll admit. He didn't even look at me when he replied, "You own this house?" Completely disregarding my order.
"Yes. Why were you in my basement?"
He ignored my question and instead got off the couch and started touching all of my things. I knew I didn't want to make him angry but I was scared and this guy, who I'm pretty sure is some supernatural being, is in my house and I was already starting to feel the nausea and heart palpitations of a panic attack.
He looked over and noticed how uneasy I was.
"Why don't you have a seat, beautiful?"
If I was sensible the pet names would have annoyed and creeped me out but no one had ever called me those things before, unless they were friends and family. I hated the butterflies I was starting to get the longer I was in his presence.
"If I do will you answer my questions?" (And hopefully, leave?!)
"Only if you answer some of mine." He sneered.
"Deal."Oof! :P
Sorry it's a little slow going, I now know what major things I want to happen but it's hard trying to web them all together with smaller things.
