Chapter 5: April and Stew

Ashlyn's P.O.V.

I woke up with a blinding light in my eyes. I tried to sit up but my thigh felt like someone was putting acid on it. As I let a whimper, I looked at my thigh and arm to see that it was bandaged. I had on new clothes; a light pink angel sleeve shirt that flare out at the bottom and new blue jeans. My hair was in a braid.

"I see you are awake, Ashlyn", a voice called out.

I turned around to see that turtle in the purple bandana leaning agains the door frame smiling at me.

"Oh, hi Donnie. What happened?", I asked remembering what happened before I passed out.

"Well, from what Leo told me, he ran into Karai and there was a little conflict between them. She dodged his kick and ran towards you. She was about to stab you when Leo jumped in a managed to save you, but he got a slightly deep cut in his plastron. He kicked Karai, hard and knocked her out. He picked you up and ran to the nearest manhole. When you guys came back to the lair, I told Leo to bring you into my lab. I had to do a little surgery on you to get the arrows. And A-", he was explaining until I stopped him.

"Wait, if you had to do some surgery to get the arrows wouldn't my jeans get in the way?", I asked while eyeing him suspiciously.

"Uh, w-well", he stuttered while rubbing his neck looking at the ground slightly blushing.

"YOU SICK PERVERT!!", I yelled at him angrily also slightly blushing.

"No no no no, it's not like that!", he stated.

"We know of a girl and a guy named Casey and April. April came in to help me and she told me to leave the room while she changes you. She said she put on one of her shorts so that I can do the surgery. Then after I was done, she gave you an outfit for you to wear", Donnie explained.

Just as he said that a girl and a dude walked into the room. The girl had red hair in a high bun, was wearing a purple top that shows her stomach, and light brown jeans. The dude had slightly long black hair, was wearing a red tank top, gloves, and blue work out pants. The rest of the turtles came in too.

"Hi, my name is April O' Neil and that's that bonehead Casey Jones", the girl said while pointing to the guy.

"Hello, I'm Ashlyn but you can call me Ash if you like", I greeted.

I turned and looked at Leo. Surely enough, he had a three inch scar on his plastron. I felt kinda guilty that Leo got hurt because of me.

"Come on Ash, let go shopping for some clothes for you. I nodded as I headed out the lair with April.

"So Ashlyn, how did you get to know the turtles?", April questioned.

After a quarter of an hour explaining, we reached the mall. I got out out the car and looked around to see hundreds of shoppers, like twenty advertisers, and a few drunk guys hanging out at the parking lot. April and I walked to Ross. I started picking out clothes that I liked and April did the same. I was searching until I layed my eyes on an outfit perfect for a kunoichi. I took all of the clothes and went to the changing room to try them all on. Once both of us were done, we went to the Food Market. I thought I would repay the turtles by cooking them a meal tonight. I bought beef, beans, seasoning, ginger, carrots, beef broth, potatoes, and salt. I though of making my famous beef stew tonight. April just bought milk. We drove back to the lair.

"Hey April, why don't you join me and the turtles tonight for dinner? I'm making my famous beef stew as a thank you gift for everyone that helped me out", I exclaimed.

"Sure, why not, I'd love to taste your stew!", she said.

We arrive back at the lair. It was 7:30 pm already.

"Hey guys! I'm going to cook tonight's dinner as a thank gift for al of you ok?!", I yelled through the lair loud enough for everyone to hear.

I got out my favorite purple apron with blue flowers and put it on. I opened the cupboards and found a big steel pot. As I started heating the stove, I placed the pot on top and poured in the broth. I stirred for a minute and let it be for 4 minutes as I began chopping up the carrots and potatoes. I sliced the beef into small cubes. While grinding the ginger, I heard bubbling noises and knew the broth was done. I turn the fire down to low and plopped in the potatoes, carrots, beans and ginger. I sprinkled in some seasoning as well as salt. I stirred for about 5 minutes and let it set for the rest of the time left. Looking up at the clock, it read 8:00. I still had some time to clean up and set the table, so I did. When the stew was done, I ran into the living room.

"DINNER IS READY!", I called.

As soon as I called out, everyone came rushing into the dining room.

"Man Ash, something smells good in here!", Mikey complimented.

"Thanks", I replied.

Everyone sat down, including Sensei, and I took the pot off the stove, turned off the fire, and started pouring everyone a bowl of stew with a ladle. I sat down between Master Splinter and Raph. As everyone put there spoon in their mouths, their eyes fell off their faces.

"OMG, I didn't know you could cook like this!", Donnie exclaimed.

The others nodded in agreement. I just smiled feeling happy everyone liked my cooking. After we were done eating, it was time for bed.

"Wait, guys, where am I going to sleep?", I asked politely.

"Oh, there is an empty room next to Mikey's room. You can have that one", Donnie replied.

"Thanks", I thanked.

I went to brush my teeth and get ready for bed. I changed into my pjs (a sky blue tank top and black work out pants). I entered the room it was a little dusty but it was good. There was a mattress on the floor. I was thinking of redoing and furnishing it but that will have to wait for tomorrow. Today, I was too tired. I flopped onto the mattress and drifted of into a deep sleep.

GOMEN! THIS CHAPTER WASN'T THAT LONG EITHER. I HAVE ALOT ON MY BACK RIGHT NOW, AND I SORT OF HAVE WRITER'S BLOCK. I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT RIGHT NOW. ANYWAYS, BYE!!:) <3
