Ashlyn's P.O.V
I woke up on a hard metal table all bandaged up. I saw 2 figures in front of me.
"Ugh, where am I?", I asked groggily.
Suddenly one of the figures jumped into the shadows. The other one just sat in a chair.
"You're in our lair", the figure standing up said.
"Who are you?", I questioned.
"My name is Leonardo but you can call me Leo", the figure said.
"I'm Donatello, you can call me Don or Donnie", the other figure said.
"Umm, can I see you guys?", I asked them.
"Uhh, I don't know if that's a good idea. We are, lets say, different from other people", Leo said.
"It's ok, I........I'm different from other people too", I mumbled.
"Ok, don't tell me I didn't warn you", he hesitated.
I nodded. They both stepped out from the shadow. My eyes widened. I saw two giant turtles with weapons and a different colored bandana. The one named Leo had a blue bandana and 2 twin katanas strapped on his back....shell. The one named Don had a purple bandana and a Bo staff on his shell. Apparently Leo caught my widened eyes.
"Told you", he chuckled.
"Cool!", I smiled.
They stared at me with wide eyes.
"You think we're cool?", Don asked surprised.
"Most people who see us just scream and flip out yelling "freaks!", Leo said.
"Are you kidding me? You guys are turtles! Mutant turtles! My most favorite animals are turtles!", I said excitedly.
"Well then, what did you mean when you said you were different than others?" Don asked.
"Well..........I'm a changeling", I mumbled.
"That...Is....So.....AWESOME!", Don exclaimed.
"A what?", Leo asked.
"A changeling, a person who can change into any animal they want: mythical, magical, real, extinct, etc.", I explained.
"Woah", Leo said in awe.
Suddenly, I saw 2 more turtles and a giant rat enter. One turtle had a red bandana and sais on belt. The other one had an orange bandana and nunchucks on his belt. The giant rat was wearing a faded brick red kimono holding a wooden walking stick.
"Hi! I'm Michelangelo, but call me Mikey!", the turtle in the orange bandana exclaimed.
"I'm Raphael, you can call me Raph but not Raphie", the turtle in the red bandana said flatly.
"This is Master Splinter but you can call him Sensei", Leo said pointing to the giant rat.
I bowed to Master Splinter and he bowed to me too. I smiled.
"And who might you be miss?", Sensei asked politely.
"I'm Ashlyn", I replied.
"My sons, I must speak with miss Ashlyn in private", Sensei told them.
"Yes Master Splinter", they said in unison.
After a half an hour explanation, Master Splinter asked if I'd keep the secret of their existence. I nodded. I left the lab with Master Splinter. I saw Mikey playing a video game, Raph working out with a punching bag, Don tinkering with a machine, and Leo standing there waiting for me. I walked over to him.
"Hey, you want a tour of our lair?", Leo asked.
I nodded. He started showing me around the lair. I thought it was awesome. All the space and room. Leo snapped me out of my thoughts.
"So, what did Karai do to you?", Leo asked.
"Well..she said that this Shredder dude wanted my ability so he can rule the world. So Karai told me they needed to analyze my blood for a DNA sample to try to get a serum for my ability", I explained.
"But why did Karai try to kill you?", Leo questioned.
"She said now that I know about their plans I must die", I said with a sad expression.
He patted my back to try to sooth me. Master Splinter came up to us.
"Ashlyn, would you like to train with us in the art of ninjutsu?", Master Splinter asked.
I nodded cheering up a bit.
"Then we will start tomorrow", Sensei bowed.
I bowed as well. Raph, Mikey, and Don came up to me with smiles on their faces, except Raph's was a smirk.
"Hey Ashlyn, show us your changeling abilities!", Mikey excitedly said.
"Ok, what animal you guys want me to change into?", I asked.
Don came up to me and whispered to me. I nodded. The other three looked,at me with confused faces. I closed my eyes and thought of the animal. I started glowing. Then a sudden burst of smoke cover around me so they would see. Once the smoke cleared away. I stood on Donnie's hands.
"AAAH!", Raph screamed.
I was a cockroach.
Leo, Don, Mikey, and I laughed so hard, we had tears in our eyes.
"Donnie!", Raph raged.
He walked away with a red face. We wiped away the tears.
"My sons, it's getting late. We mustn't keep miss Ashlyn too long", Sensei said calmly.
They bowed.
"I'll walk Ashlyn home, Sensei. To make sure no Foot ninjas ambush her", Leo said.
Master Splinter nodded in approval. Leo walked me out of the lair and into the sewers.
"Ewwww, you guys really live in the sewers?!", I complained.
"I mean, it is the least obvious place for anyone to find us in", Leo reasoned.
"I guess", I said uninterested.
We kept walking until we got to the manhole cover. Leo lifted the cover and helped me up. He said he'll watch from the roof tops. I kept walking to my house. I got to my house and waved goodbye. When I got inside I saw my house had been trashed. Everything destroyed. I stood there with tears welling in my eyes.
