Chloe's (Not So) Evil Plan

Chapter 2

Adrien's POV

I stare at Marinette's balcony eyes wide. I stand still too shocked to do anything. Then the panic sets in. Oh no! Ladybug is going to kill me. She doesn't want us to know each other's identity! She'll think I followed her after the battle and she'll never trust me again! This can't happen. What am I going to do?

I need to talk to her. I'll explain what happened. She trusts me. She'll believe me. Right? I make my way to her balcony and raise my fist to knock when I hear Marinette's voice.

"He'll never love me, Tikki"

"Of course he will Marinette! Soon he will wake up and realize that you are more than just a friend to him." A high pitched voice that I'm guessing belongs to Tikki replies encouragingly. Who could she be talking about. Does she like Luka? Nathaniel? Someone else in our class?

"It's no use Tikki, Adrien will always just be a friend." Marinette says and my heart stops. I take a step back but trip over my tail and fall to the ground with a loud crash.

"What was that?!" Marinette's panicked voice says. A second later the trap door swings open and Marinette's head pops into view.

"Chat Noir?" She asks, "What are you doing here?"

"Just dropping by M'lady," I say trying to sound normal.

"What did you call me?" Marinette asks. Shoot! I only call ladybug that! Crap! Crap! I'm in trouble now.

"Nothing," I say quietly. A loud beep from my ring interrupts the silence.

"Chat Noir! You're about to detransform!"

"Well I already know that you're ladybug so you should no my identity too," I blurt out without thinking.

"What?!" Marinette gasps, "How?!" Before I can answer a bright flash of green fills my eyes and I detransform.

"Well this isn't going well." I mutter.

"Ya think!" Plagg says hovering above my head, "You're acting like a major idiot today?"

"I know that," I snap back at him.

"Adrien?" a small voice asks. I look up and see Marinette looking at me a shocked expression on her face.

"Surprise?" I say weakly.
