NORA
Matthew slipped away in my arms and tears streaked my cheeks. His body began to lose its warmth and I reached out a shaking hand to shut his blank eyes. "Nora!" Ryder called.
I turned to look at him as he ran up with John beside him. "You did it!" John smiled.
"Matthew did it," I replied, my heart breaking.
Ryder and John's smiles faded when they saw Matthew. "Oh no," Ryder fell to the ground. "No. Matthew?"
"He's gone," I wiped my eyes of tears. "But he did it. He saved the world." Ryder wiped his own eyes of tears as the rest of the group ran up.
"NO!" Aidan's grief stricken voice hit the air as he pushed through the crowd. "No, not Matthew! Not Matthew please!" Aidan dropped down next to Matthew's unmoving body. "Wake up!" Aidan grabbed his shoulders, "Please wake up!"
"He's gone Aidan," I said quietly.
"No!" Aidan looked up his eyes full of grief.
Lauren cried into Ryder's shoulder as everyone came by to see Matthew's motionless body. "What do we do now?" Neo asked solemnly.
"We have a funeral, and then start rebuilding the world," I replied.
Ryder nodded, "yes, Britain needs a Prime Minister and the US needs a President."
"Wait, where's Judy?" Stephanie asked.
I looked away, "she's gone too."
"No!" Molly gasped.
John and Jim hung their heads and Stephanie shut her eyes in grief. "The people who died for this cause will never be forgotten." I said.
"Right. The whole world will know how they died and what they died for," Ryder stood by me.
"We have to announce the death and corruption that those two men have caused." Peter said.
"And we should commemorate Matthew," Aidan sniffed.
"Matthew will be the inspiration to keep fighting, we'll rebuild this world in his name."
We began work right away. Molly and their group mourned Judy heavily and promised to look after each other. I took my group home where we began to explain everything that happened to the local press. Millions of arrests were put in motion including Caden and Sadie. We began remolding the new society that would hopefully be around forever. Matthew got a statue and became the reason behind a new constitution. Everything was beginning to be set right. An election was help for a new president and I became the youngest President ever to come into office at only 23. Ryder was voted for Vice President. Molly became Prime Minister and together we remade friendships with long pushed away countries and began to take the path that had for so long gone un-treaded.
Aidan and Lauren got married and they have two twin boys one of which is named Matthew, the other Jayce. Ryder proposed to me on the 7th of September and we have a daughter who I named Scarlett after my best friend who sacrificed herself to save everyone.
To this day I still miss Matthew and everyone else I've lost, but every event I went through taught me how to live and gave me the strength to be able to lead my country. I will never forget who died for me and I hope to be able to do them justice by being the best leader I can be.
