As Jackson sat by Paul, he didn't know if he would be able to help him as much as he thought he could. He had mixed feelings regarding this, but he genuinely felt he was out of his depth. "Are you sure there isn't anyone you can call? You can't contact one of your brothers?" Jax felt bad for pressing after the man had initially answered. But he wasn't sure where to go from their current situation. He hardly had the time or means to properly provide for himself most of the time. Never mind a stranger. "No. It's been years since I've spoken to any of them." Jax sighed, and then turned and looked at Paul's slightly desperate expression and softened a bit at this. He decided that he would help him, no matter how frustrated he got.
Slowly, Jax reached out and placed a hand on the other man's arm. "Okay i'll help you. Where should we start first? Is there anything you can use?" Paul frowned, "no. can we start with the cellular phone?" Jax nodded, and pulled his phone from his pocket. He opened it to the keypad section, and placed it in Paul's hands. "These are the numbers, they're what are used to call people that aren't in your contacts."
Paul looked puzzled as he turned to regard Jax carefully. "Why is it flat? Should there not be buttons to be pressed?" Paul looked confusedly down at the touchscreen again and poked it a little. 99012546**9782 filled the corner. Jax gently took the phone away and cleared it before he could accidentally dial.
"Yes. The older phones had buttons, but that's a touchscreen. That means that you can see the numbers, but you can't actually press them."

Jax then switched to the contacts section, and explained everything in there. Once Paul figured out how to work the phone on his own, the two turned to the kitchen appliances. "What's this?" Paul asked, as he ran his hand across an object. "It's a waffle maker. It's used to make breakfast. Do you want to try it tomorrow?" Paul agreed, and the two resumed the explanation of the rest of the kitchen appliances.
He soon became comfortable enough in the kitchen, to help Jax prepare them lunch. "Would you like to come with me to get you some clothes tomorrow? Jax questioned later as they watched TV. "Sure," Paul hesitantly agreed. "When do you want to go though?" Jax asked, as he turned to watch his friend shift nervously beside him. "It's up to you, we can go whenever. But can we go where there are less mort—ummm—people please?" Jax frowned slightly, tilting his head to gaze at the other man. Did I cross a line or something? "That's fine," Jax agreed Good naturedly. The two decided to go the next day. As Paul was seemingly fine with borrowing another one of Jax T-shirts and some basketball shorts, and some pajamas until then.
Once it was around the time that Jax usually went for one of his walks, Paul wanted to come with him. So Jack's agreed to let him. As they walked, Paul was fascinated by the cacti around them. He watched Jax lift his camera to take several shots of a specific cactus. Then touched his arm to get his attention. "Can you show me how to do that please?" Paul asked softly once The young photographer turned to look at him. "Sure," jax gently guided Paul's hands into the proper position to hold the camera and then removed the strap from his shoulder. It took them over half an hour to get a decent picture, but they had fun anyway. The two eventually returned home once it was about ten o'clock. With the promise that Paul would get some new clothes and a phone tomorrow, the two went to bed.
