It was official, Lyon decided. He was going crazy. Whether that was from shock or if it was still due to his frustration because of his breakup he didn't know. He only knew that this man was crazy, and he himself was crazy for even allowing him to stay in his home. He had no idea what he was doing anymore. He only knew he felt a meltdown coming and it was coming on fast. He also needed out, or Aydin needed out because he couldn't take anymore.
"Lyon!" Aydin screamed from inside the condo. Why he was screaming? Lyon didn't know anymore. He only knew he wanted it to stop before one of his neighbors called the cops. Oh boy... Can't he stop that before he finds me? Lyon thought as he sat on the steps leading up to the condo. He figured that his neighbors probably thought he was nutty for sitting out there for three hours straight, but he really didn't know how else to get away from his new roommate.
Lyon closed his eyes and laid his head on his knees. His breathing grew more ragged as his fingers pressed into his calf muscles. It's so hot, it's so hot... Why's it so hot? That's loud. His chest tightened and he squeezed his eyes closed as the ground began to dip and sway beneath him.
A low whine rasped from his chest as pressure closed around him. He felt the hands grabbing his ankles, the fingers scratching and pinching painfully at his back and arms. "Lyon!" Aydin's scream was closer this time. It was his but not. Lyon's mouth grew dry. He tried to fight them. As soon as it started, it stopped, and it was just Lyon. Sitting alone, shaking and crying quietly in the blazing sun.
The door opened and Aydin stocked out. "What are you doing? Why are you crying young one?" Aydin said as he knelt beside the other man still huddled on the steps. "No... Nothing. Why are you out here, why are you shouting?" Lyon asked quietly.
"I didn't know where you went, and it is my job to protect you." Aydin answered simply. Lyon was dumbstruck, "protect me? What do you mean protect me?" Lyon moved toward Aydin, in an attempt to usher him back inside as not cause a scene in front of their neighbors. The two made it inside without much argument from Aydin. But that was when Lyon saw Aydin's bag open, daggers, guns, and their ammunition spread across the coffee table.
Lyon's lips parted as he gazed at the sight scattered on his table. "What are you doing with that?!" Lyon squawked as he glared at Aydin once he finally recovered. "Didn't I tell you to put those away?" Aydin nodded with a half smile. "Yes, but I didn't know if you were in danger, so I took out my weapons so that I may destroy whatever enemy had you." Lyon blanched at Aydin's answer, then sighed and turned away.
"I'm fine. Please put those away." Aydin calmly walked over to the table, knelt down and began to meticulously place each of the weapons into it's respective compartment. I really need to invest in a good safe or something, was Lyon's slightly bitter thought.
He continued to let his thoughts wander as he watched Aydin organize his bag. "Lyon. Are you alright? Did I upset you?" Aydin knelt in front of the motionless form on the sofa. Reaching out carefully, he took a hold of Lyon's shoulders and began to shake him back and forth. Lyon was snapped out of his thoughts by this.
He gazed blankly for a few seconds, then registered the question and the man knelt in front of him. "What do you want?" He asked. "Are you hungry yet?" Aydin remained there as he answered. "Yes. Sure." Aydin agreed. "Okay," Lyon stood and walked to the kitchen. "What do you want to eat?" "I don't know. Whatever you feel like making."
Lyon walked around the kitchen, gathering vegetables and other ingredients he would need to make a crust for chicken pot pie. Normally he didn't make something so complicated unless he had to, but he welcomed the distracttion.
Once the crust for the pot pie was made, and most of the vegetables were chopped, Aydin was back to getting on his nervs. "But why can't I?" He asked, gripping Lyon's arm and sending small thrills through his body that he did his best to ignore. "Because, you can't go walking around the neighborhood with several guns! It's unreasonable for one, and you'll draw attention to yourself for another," Lyon answered, his tone full of exasperation. "Fine, I won't bring the guns, but will you at least come with me?" Aydin continued to tug on his arm. "Why do I have to go? Your the one that's being weird." "Because, I must protect you, I cannot do that if you are here and I am somewhere else." Lyon wouldn't admit it to anyone else, but Aydin's statement sent warmth through his body and caused his hart beat to thrum just a bit faster against his ribs.
Lyon pressed his lips together, then finally answered. "Fine," Lyon agreed, "but we're only going for twenty minutes." As the two walked, Aydin insisted on either holding Lyon's wrist or staying next to him. He explained his reasoning for this, as he had to stay near Lyon to protect him from their possible enemies. Unable to decide if he was offended or touched by this odd gesture of kindness: or whatever he wanted to call it he agreed nonetheless While they walked, Aydin's jacket shifted slightly with the evening breeze: revealing several daggers lining the inside of it. "Wha—why do you have those?!" Lyon hissed as he did his best to whisper in frustration as they passed a few people. Reaching out, he hurriedly fixed Aydin's jacket. "I told you, I must protect you. I cannot do so without weapons." Aydin explained calmly. Sighing, Lyon grabbed his wrist and started hurriedly pulling him back in the direction of the condo. "Let's go back now. We're done okay?" Aydin nodded, and walked calmly beside his slightly panicked companion. Once they returned to the Condo Lyon flopped on to the sofa with a sigh. Okay... note to self, don't take Aydin around people unless absolutely necessary. As he watched his roommate walk around the living room though, he wondered how soon that would have to be... And how bad the results would be too.
