Zaitan walked up and down the cave. Thinking so hard that it would not have surprised him if smoke had erupted from his ears. The entrance was still blocked by a huge boulder and outside were fifty men positioned. Why had they betrayed them?

A noise came from the corner as his father rolled over in his sleep. The little light made it almost impossible to see. There was no lamp and nothing else in the cave to give them light.

Zaitan stopped, "Where does the light come from?" The realization crashed over him. Five days had they been locked up and never bothered to think where the light came from. Scrambling around Zaitan tried to distinguish the light's source.

He followed the small shaft farther and farther. Then it sloped down and Zaitan rolled over and over a smooth surface. It went down, faster and faster. Slowly Zaitan finally came to a stop. Picking himself up he didn't even bother about all the bruises. It was muddy and damp in here, the walls glowed blue like the light in the front of the cave. Yet there was no exit.

Zaitan slouched his shoulders and then immediately pulled them high again. What had that noise been. It was like a small breeze, a intake of breath, a... a... a animal's breath. Running and slipping Zaitan ran to the source of the breathing. It grew louder and louder and soon it became deafening. Then he stopped. There in front of him were the Ancient ones. All huddled together in one pack and sleeping. Zaitan ran to a huge blue one.

Then he gasped. "Mouldor!" he shouted. Several of the creatures awoke with a start. The blue one however turned and stared down at Zaitan.

They looked at each other, the two old friends. But Mouldor's eyes held no recognition. Only hatred and something else.

Zaitan stumbled back as the large blue figure took a step forward. And another, still huffing huge breaths. Zaitan backed against the wall untill he could go no farther. The creature's nostrils came closer and boogies sprayed Zaitan.

"You! What are you doing here?!" The noise was a great rumble. Like the ocean roaring.

Zaitan blinked, then again. "But, but... Hey, Mouldor! It's me, Zaitan!" A flash of recognition crossed over Mouldor's eyes.

"Zaitan? The Zaitan?!" He asked in a slightly disbelieving manner.

"I don't know, what you mean by THE ZAITAN but I am Zaitan! Cmon! You mist remember me!" Zaitan grasped the small piece of hope he glimpsed.

Mouldor thought for a second as he surveyed Zaitan. "Yes, you look like him. Then what are you doing here?"

"Actually I came to find you! We need your help up there! We need you or we will die. They are destroying our land and our homes! Your homes! We nedd to go fight them!" Zaitan now took up the voice of hope and courage again.

"Oh, no! They will never come to your help!" Said a voice. A voice Zaitan knew and hated.
