While she was turning her neck to see the every corner of the cabin she was sitting Ragini had no idea what will be her new role like. It wasn't her first job. She needed a change so she applied for this post and got selected. The girl who went out of the cabin just five minutes ago returned with the same smile.
“Here is your appointment letter” she forwarded a bundle of paper which Ragini received and started reading the clause and conditions. And also the payment details. A smile crept her lips when she thought of that better pay than her previous job.
There was no harm in being ambitious and Ragini was that to the bone. She knew her worth and she knew her work deserved what she gets paid. So being overwhelmed was not necessary. She filled the forms and attached all the photocopies of her documents and stapled it neatly and handed it back to the girl who smiled warmly as she found so professional for the first time.
“Welcome to Maheshwari's group of companies” the girl shook her hand with Ragini. As the formalities were over Ragini looked at her watch. It was 4 in the evening by the time all the recruitment process was over and she knew it will take this much time.
Opening the big glass door of the office she walked out to reach for the lift and pressed the down button. But the lift was still four floors down. Without waiting for it long she rushed to the stairs and strode down. It was exhausting but she is Ragini who doesn't mind an extra pound fat burning exercise which can save her time.
As she was near the ground floor steps she collided with a man and the files in his hand flew. Perfect timing isn't it? But she had no time to wait or help the man. She uttered a quick sorry and walked towards the exit.
Sanskar who was baffled due to the sudden collision looked at the exit a girl running out. She was wearing a long top and jeans and her brown hair dangled across her back reaching her waist. She was wearing a sling bag and ballet shoes.
Frustrated he looked in front of to catch the flying papers. “People now a days are so less mannered and of course blind with the working eye sight I wonder why are they even existing” he nodded his head and walked towards the stair but the lift made a sound and he walked back to it instead of climbing the stairs to reach the office on the fifth floor.
The lift jerked and moved up and he got out of it just in front of his office. “Ruby” he called when he reached the cabin door. Ruby who was arranging the recruitment file walked to her boss's cabin. She entered it asking his permission.
“Have you got me a new assistant?” he asked straight as he sat on his chair and emptied the water glass. “Hmmmm. What's wrong with you people? Why this water tastes so odd?” he looked at her with twitched face.
'That's the normal water he drinks everyday' Ruby thought confused.
“Get me hot water. How many times have I told place only hot water in my glass. I think you need to change the glass too” he handed her the glass which Ruby grabbed.
“I will get it sir. Till then please look into this file of the new recruit” she handed him the file and walked out of the cabin.
As soon as she reached out she left a breath she was holding all this time. She walked to the pantry to get warm water in a new glass from the exclusive water glass set reserved for Sanskar. Every week a glass used to get replaced with the new one. And they had a habit of keeping a set of it ready for any time.
Sanskar opened the file and started reading the bio data of the candidate. Before he could turn the next page his phone buzzed and he placed the file aside to receive the call.
“Yes Mr. Parimal. Yeah I do understand but I need some time to complete the order” he closed the file this time and stood up.
“How can you just pressurize me like this? It was your problem that you came to us at the last moment. Considering our old business relations I have accepted your order. But then I don't do the half baked cake. So have patience till we complete our work and we will supply the materials to you on the promised date. And if you hurry the quality will be compromised. And Maheshwari industries have a reputation” he walked to the window of his cabin.
