I can hear a quiet beeping noise. My eyes are shut, but I know that it is bright where ever I am. My head is pounding, and I don't feel my tubes. I try to figure out where I am, but I can't open my eyes or move. Suddenly, the memories of the restaurant bathroom floor over me. If I could, I would have screamed. My sub-contious mind tried to convince me that I died on the dirty floor, locked in a McDonald's bathroom.

I can hear voices, but it sounds like I'm underwater. I think I can hear Mom. But she's not dead. Right? I don't think I'm dead. My nose itches. And I don't think dead people itch. I try to ask what was going on, but it doesn't work, I can't make a sound. But I keep trying, soon I let out a small moan. I feel somebody rush to my side. I am able to barely move my fingers now. I definitely hear Mom now. She is yelling for a nurse. Why is she yelling that? I am just able to open my eyes enough to see. Bright lights momentarily blind me. I can see Mom holding my hand and smiling, sitting on the floor, and I see Dad asleep in a chair. Where am I? A lady runs in. She looks familiar, and she looks scared.

Mom jumps up, "He moved, and he made a noise. I think his eyes are opening too." The nurse just nodded and walked towards me. Mom walked over to Dad and shook him awake. The nurse checked all the monitors around me. I could feel the tubes running in and out of my body now. She also checked those. She didn't say anything while she made sure I was fine. As soon as she left, my parents walked over to me and Mom looked like she was going to cry. I lift my fingers up to them, because that was all I could do. They both grabbed a hand.

After about fifteen minutes, the nurse came back with a doctor. He came over and pulled my eyelids open, and poked different parts of my body, I could feel some of those places, and I tried to move out of the way when it hurt. Soon, the doctor knelt down beside me and asked me a few questions.

"Hey, your name is Trayton, right? Blink once for yes and twice for no." I blinked, he smiled. "Well, at least you are reponsive, that's a good sign. Can you move your fingers for me?" I did, "How about your wrist," I couldn't.

He manually moved my wrist for me, "If this hurts then squeeze your eyes shut, okay?" I could feel it, but it didn't hurt. He moved on to my elbows then to my shoulders. Then he asked if I could move my toes, and I could. Then he moved my ankles, knees, and hips. He asked if I could talk.

I whispered, "How long have I been here?"

He looks at me and replies, "Ah, you can talk. Well, you can whisper. Um, you have been here for three days. You were unresponsive. So, I don't really know what happened to you. Do you mind telling me?"

I coughed, "I can try." He listened intently as I told him about what had happened. "And after I screamed, I don't know what happened. I don't know who found me, how long I was in the bathroom, or how I got here, or anything."

He looks at his hands, "Well Trayton, your brother, Mathew found you. He was worried because you had been gone for almost 15 minutes. He went to check on you, and he heard banging and screaming, then silence, but the door was locked. He ran to find the manger for a key, and he had called us while they were finding the key. Our ambulance made it to you just as the door was being opened. I am just glad you had your breathing tube with you, otherwise, I don't think you would have survived."

"Where is Mat?"

Mom looks up, "He had to go back to school. He stayed with you as long as he could." I just nodded. "We can call him as soon as Dr. Mannix says we can." He looks at me and nods.

"Go ahead, I think you will be ready to go soon. I will go check on that." He winked at me. I smiled back.

"Hey Mom? Did I have any visitors, other than you, Dad, and Mat while I was unconscious?"
