Elliots POV
The young man in front of Elliot surprised her, the way Jason spoke about David she half expected a six foot tall man with a beard, built like a brick house, however she was actually met with a skinny, frail, lanky man who looked too pale for his own good and the black clothes weren't helping. In his hand he held half a burrito, that in the time Elliot had been staring he had already taken two bites of.
"Elliot," was all she could muster after realising just how awkward she had made the situation.
"Come in, sit down. Do you want some water?" Elliot had just touched down on the couch and was about to open her mouth to answer when David had already moved on.
"Natalie, get Elliot a water. Jason, a word" David walked down a hallway with Jason trailing after him as a dark haired, pretty girl handed Elliot a water bottle.
"Thanks, i'm Elliot by the way"
"Natalie," she pause like there was a question she wasn't sure whether to ask, " so are you a subscriber?"
Elliot tilted her head and she unscrewed the bottle, a subscriber to what surely Natalie couldn't be talking about a random Magazine out of nowhere in the middle of a conversation
"A subscriber? Like, to a magazine?" Elliots confused face made Natalie laugh and breathe a steady breath, at least she wasn't a crazy obsessed fan.
Davids POV
Jason and David walked down the corridor away from Natalie and the random girl Jason had brought with him. David blew out a breath making him hair, that rested on his head, flow upwards from the heavy exhale.
Jason closed the door behind both of them staring at Davids back before he turned with an annoyed look on his face.
"David I can explai-" Jason started but was cut off before he could finish.
"I sure hope you can, in what world is it okay to bring a random subscriber into my house at 5pm! You could have texted me so i was ready or-" Now it was Davids turn to be cut off from his angry ranting.
"David you don't understand! She's not a subscriber, she doesn't even know I'm a youtuber let alone you," Jason let out a deep sigh.
"Shes my-my." He stopped again. Looking David in the eyes in silence.David knew that whatever Jason was trying to say was hard for him.
"Shes my daughter"
Elliots POV
"So how do you know Jason?" Natalie broke the silence the two girls had sat in for a few minutes.
"We just met a few hours ago. I turned up on his doorstep uninvited, actually. He didn't even know I existed until a few hours ago." Elliot didn't blink, just stared at the floor in thought, all the while Natalie stared at Elliot in confusion. How could she have only just met Jason that day, not be a subscriber and be at Davids house?
Suddenly, Jason and David came back into the room; both in silence however Davids eyes became questioning once he looked at Elliot, this girl in his house was Jason's daughter. He thought he had met all of Jasons children and now here she was, a girl probably as old as he was, had met her father in the morning and somehow ended the day sat on his couch, with an unopened water bottle in her hand, staring at the ground with glazed eyes.
