Don't Ask

Kassandra's POV

"No." I said and everyone looked at me.

"Do you understand that if you don't fight her what might happen?" He asked and I nodded my head.

"I do understand, believe me I do......but what you're asking me..."

"Is to help save our lives!" The woman now screams taking a step away from her mate towards me.

"As much as I despise your mate for what she did my son, you don't seem to grasp exactly how powerful she is." She hissed moving closer to me.

"I understand more than any of you just how......amazing she is." I said and looked away from the angry woman.

"Yet you still refuse to do anything against that monster!" She screamed and I snapped.

"She is my mate!" I breathed in heavily. "Against everything else she is my mate, my other half! For you to stand there and ask me to kill her means you don't know the meaning of mates!" I shouted and she glared harder at me.

"So you would doom us all to oblivion just for your mate?!" She screamed.

"Yes!" I said and they all looked at ne shocked.

"Kass, I think we should go." Fen said and I shook my head as tears streamed down my face.

"If push comes to shove and I must fight Aliana in order to save you all, then I am sorry. I won't do it." I said and felt a comforting hand on my shoulder.

I looked over and saw Lana looking me with a sad smile on her face.

"It's alright Kassandra." She said and I gave her a small smile.

"It's not alright, were all....!"

"Enough!" The man said and the woman stopped and glared at him.

"When I get my hands on her I'm going to rip her apart and if we manage to suvive this war I swear I will do the same to you so you can join your precious mate." She growled and in the next instant my hand was around her throat and I had her pressed against a wall.

"Do not ever think to threaten my mate you creaton. I will send your soul to purgatory to be tortured for eternity." Laas said and the woman's eyes widened as she scratched at my hand.

I was suprised, Laas was never once thought to engage in violence, yes we knew how to fight and defend ourselves but I've never made the first move.

"Do you understand me?" She growled lowly at the woman who was still glaring but she did nod her head.

Laas dropped her hand from the woman's throat and we turned and walked away from her to the man.

I was suprised that he had allowed his mate to get hurt, I guess they really do have different definitions of mates.

"When the time comes we will do our part, but you will not ask us to destroy our mate, we will kill any who tries to hurt her." She said and the man looked deep into my eyes for a long time before he nodded his head and we left the room with Lana and Dalton following behind us.

"You did good Kass." Fen said and Scar nodded her head.

"Aliana would be proud." Scar added as Laas gave me control again and I tried to hold in my tears.
