8,604 words. I tried not to make it this long, but there was a lot to wrap up. I still have the epilogue to post so i might do that tomorrow'ish? this update was probably trash anyway.

Farrah's POV
I stood in the lobby of the restaurant, phone to my ear, eyes widened, and heart racing. Angel? Angel? It couldn't be. Things didn't add up. It was too unexpected. Angel was always so nice, understanding, and he had a family to take care of. Why would he jeopardize his career and life to deal with the scum of the earth also known as Nick? It was unexpected... but then again those to turn on you were always the ones you would never think of.
I would've thought that Evan would be working alongside Nick, but Angel? Angel? Angel. I just couldn't believe it. I couldn't understand it. Wrap my head around it. Angel.
"Michael are you sure it was him? Maybe it wasn't a social call."
"Well Farrah," he scoffed. "They looked mighty damn buddy-buddy to me. And why would Angel know where Nick does business. You don't even know."
I bit down on my lip and turned to look at the table where Janet sat, looking around, her lips twisted to the side as she waited patiently for me to return. I sighed and turned back to the large windows, watching the cars and people pass by.
"I don't know Michael," I mumbled, taking a deep breath and then exhaling. "I don't know. Look I'm... I'm with your sister right now, but did they see you or did you just see them?"
"I don't know, shit, I hope the fuck not. And that's another thing. I take back what I said earlier. Nick coulda got in Janet's head and who knows how far she gon go to try and get back with him. Maybe you needa make up something to leave."
"And if she's actually being genuine?"
"Well then I guess we ain't gon ever know."
I kissed my teeth. "Seriously Michael?"
"Do you hear me laughing? Farrah I'm dead ass serious."
"Well then shouldn't I at least see where her head is at? If this is a big ole conspiracy then we need all parts to figure out what we should do next. Go home for now and I'll meet you at the precinct at six, okay? By then I'll have some information we can work it."
He sounded skeptical and as if he didn't enjoy my plan, but he mumbled, "a'ight."
"I love you and I'll talk to you later," I hung up the phone and slid it into my pocket before making my way back to the table. "Sorry," I told Janet sliding into the seat.
She just nodded, not really saying much and that alone had put me on edge. How could you invite someone out to eat and then barely talk? It was making me want to side with Michael and make up an excuse to leave, but we had rode together, and I was tempted to stake it out.
"Janet," I sighed and she looked in my direction almost a replica of her brother only some shades darker. "Why did you call me and invite me out? I know it's not so we can sit here and look at each other for an hour."
She chuckled a little those high cheekbones rising just like Michael's did. It almost made me a little more warmhearted toward her, but after her Finely comment back at lunch it would take more than a smile for me to even think of forgiving her for it.
"I haven't spoke to Mike since that day. And usually when I piss him off he's over it the next day. With you that wasn't the case," her smile faded and she looked at me with big eyes-- once again like Michael's. "So I guess when it came to you I really struck a nerve."
