Farrah's POV

My off days were finally here and though I only had two I was happier than usual. I loved my job and up until recently I loved working with everyone in it, but ever since my little conversation with Evan tension was thick and people were starting to notice.

He didn't care to speak to me nor try and be around me (unless absolutely necessary) which I didn't so much care about, but I did care about the rumors circulating that we had an intimate relationship that went sour which would explain our weird behavior.

Little did people in the precinct know that even if Evan was the last guy on earth I'd never be with him.

Not because he wasn't good looking because he was, and he was intelligent and also very determined and successful, but he had an attitude that ruined everything he had going for him.

Nonetheless I was just happy to be away from the precinct and not have to deal with the whispers of my colleagues around me.

But it was funny how I still had to deal with whispering from my own friends even on my off days.

"Carmen if you lean over and whisper into Jen's ear one more time I just might shoot you."

Mid-way to Jen's ear Carmen froze and straightened up on my sectional couch. I was sitting on the floor in front of the entertainment center going through a box of old games. I was trying to find all the cards to the same deck, but this box and the games had been through so much I was surprised to find at least thirty of them.

"You guys might have to buckle down and buy a new deck."

Kissing her teeth Jen rolled her eyes. "I knew I shouldn't have let you borrow those cards."

"You let me borrow them six months ago," I reminded her, eyeing her as I pushed the small damaged box out of the way. "And the fact that you came over here now for them tells me that was a lie."

I grunted as I got up from the floor, "now what did you two really come over here to whisper to each other about?"

Glancing at one another they both hesitated, probably trying to figure out who would say it... or rather ask it.

"Game night, Carmen's house, tonight."

"No thanks," I said walking toward my kitchen and they followed me.

"And why not?" Jen asked as I reached in the refrigerator for the jug of orange juice.

"Symphony will be there and as much as you all want to apologize for how she acted the last time I know she'll act the exact same way this time and I'm not going to put Michael in that position. Last time he tolerated it. This time he might not and the last thing I want is for him and Jax to get into it trying to defend their girlfriends."

"Girlfriend's? With an 's'? When did you and Michael give out titles?"

I just sipped on my orange juice, ignoring Jen's pestering questions.

"I really want you two to come. You've never really participated in our couple game nights and your old excuse used to be because you were single - that was fine. But now you're not single and you just admitted it yourself. Don't try and make up an excuse like Symphony to stop you from coming."

"I'm not making up anything Carmen," I scoffed. "Symphony hates Michael and until she decides whether to tell us why she really hates him or decides to shut up and tolerate him then there will be no couple's anything and I mean that."
