Kujo Tenn x F!Reader
When you walked into school one day, you noticed right away that Riku wasn't his usual self. He looked crestfallen, and his eyes where lifeless. The second thing you noticed was that Tenn wasn't in the classroom.
"Riku-kun, is something wrong?" You set your bag on the hook of the desk and slid into your seat. You were lucky enough to sit next to the cute redhead and his twin. "Where's Tenn-chan?" Riku's shoulders stiffened. He looked back over at you and smiled, but it was obviously fake. Riku wasn't exactly the best at keeping secrets.
"Riku-kun, did something happen to Tenn-chan?"
"Tenn-nii left." Riku whispered, just enough for you to hear. "Tenn-nii's not coming back."
"What do you mean Tenn-chan's not coming back?" You said a little bit louder than Riku probably would have liked. He looked back over at you, his ruby red eyes filled with sadness, anger and most importantly, hurt. "Is he..." you couldn't even finish your sentence. You prayed that Tenn hadn't died. If he did, surely it would have ended up on the news. Either that or his parents would have told you. You wouldn't have found out by Riku directly.
"No no he's not dead!" Riku said. He looked around to see some of your classmates staring at you two. "We'll talk about this later. Meet me on the roof during lunch." Riku whispered.
It was evident that the others noticed that Tenn wasn't there. You could hear the others whispering, speculating if your class president was sick. They were all trying to rationalize why Tenn wasn't in class. When your classmates decided to pry the information out of Riku during morning break, you were the one who stood up to defend him.
"Guys come on leave him alone." You said, standing up from your seat. "He's clearly not in the mood for this."
"Aren't you worried about him (L/N)-chan?" One of the girls asked. She was one of your friends. A good girl honestly, but a bit of a busybody.
"Of course I am, but if Riku-kun is upset then we shouldn't pry." The other students got the message and then returned to their seats, still wondering why the studious Tenn had missed school.
"Thank you, (Y/N)-chan." Riku smiled at you. You smiled back at him gently. When the bell chimed to signal the end of morning break, your heart dropped a bit. Riku clearly was upset over this, whatever it was, and you wished you could help him.

When the bell for lunch rang, you pulled out your lunch and notioned for Riku to follow you to the rooftop. It wasn't unusual for you and the Nanase Twins to head outside to eat lunch, but it felt wrong with just you and Riku. When Riku was in the hospital, you and Tenn would eat inside. You always liked Tenn, maybe a bit more than you should. It felt wrong to choose between your favorite set of brothers.
When you reached the rooftop you found a secluded area, right by the AC unit.
"Riku-kun, what's going on?" You asked. Your heart was racing, and your palms were sweaty. Riku sat down at the fence that guarded the rooftop. You sat down next to him, and he told you everything. About how his parent's little club had been bought out, and how the man who bought it wanted Tenn, calling him the 'talent of the century.' Tenn agreed to go with him. Tenn agreed to abandon his family. He was no longer a Nanase, he was no longer Riku's brother, and he was no longer your best friend.
You sat in silence, taking in all this information. "Tenn-chan's... gone?" Riku nodded. "Do you know when we'll see him again?" Riku shook his head.
"We might never see Tenn-nii again." And with that, tears began to fall. They fall like a child who scraped their knee on a sharp rock. They fall in fat little globs, staining your cheeks with the trail they leave behind.
Riku pulled you in for a hug, telling you not to cry. His voice wasn't reassuring, it sounded more like he was trying to keep himself from crying as well. He wanted to be strong for you, he was a man after all, but you felt like you needed to protect him more. You knew Riku was a frail boy, he would need someone to look over him and make sure he doesn't over exert himself. You would fill in the role of his big sister from today on. It's what Tenn would have wanted. But for now, you would allow him to be your protector, and help you mend your broken heart.
Riku rubbed circles into your back, and you felt his tears stain your blouse. He was quivering, and crying like a child. "We'll have to forget him." You said, still crying. Your eyes began to feel puffy and a headache was coming in. "It'll be hard, but we'll have to."
"I don't want to forget him. I don't wanna forget Tenn-nii!"
"He abandoned us Riku, he abandoned you!" You pried Riku off you. You looked him in the eyes. His ruby eyes turned bloodshot, making them look more red than they already where. Your tears had mostly dried up, but some rebellious tears still fell. You wiped away some of Riku's tears. "Tenn-chan left us for some stupid, creepy old man!" You didn't actually know what the man who tore Tenn away from you looked like, but you just guessed that he looked like one of the people your mother told you to avoid as a kid.
"We have to move on." You said silently. In reality, you didn't want to move on. You didn't want to accept that Tenn would no longer be a part of your life. That you would no longer be able to walk home together, you wouldn't be able to talk to each other well into the night. You could no longer dream to hold his hand. You could no longer spend hours awake thinking of him in a happy light.
Nanase Tenn was gone, and you would have to move on.
