Having now left the bedroom, Andy had lead Pete into the main room where he saw Patrick talking to another figure with his back to them, but Pete could clearly tell it wasn't Joe; it was someone he didn't know. For some reason, Pete's blood seemed to chill slightly and he stopped dead in his tracks- he wasn't sure why, he didn't know this person but something in him seemed to scream that something wasn't quite right...
Pete felt Andy's grip come away from his hand as he continued moving towards Patrick and the other figure. "Father Thomas?"
The man-Thomas- spun around away from Patrick to face Andy and Pete could see what he looked like. He was clearly a priest of some sort by the way he was dressed and that he had a cross on a chain hung around his neck. He was quite tall and wore a black hat that covered up his hair and a half beard, a similar shade to Patrick's own hair colour. His face was a little bit sagged with age (Pete assumed he looked around late 30's to early 40's) and his eyes were a piercing grey and they were looking directly at Pete, who flinched away slightly at his presence. The cross, Pete thought. That's probably why I don't seem to like him. It's a symbol of God and I'm......He didn't really want to finish his thought.
Now, all three of them we're looking at Pete, but it was the priest who spoke: "Are you the vampire?"
It's it obvious? For some reason, Pete was unable to get the words out.
Andy spoke instead. "Yes he is." He told Thomas. "Why are you here?"
"I asked him to come here." Patrick said, answering Andy's question. "I figured he could help."
Pete's eyes were still fixed on the priest, and it seemed that the priest's eyes were also fixed on Pete.
After a few seconds of silence, it was Patrick who broke it. "Pete, this is Father Thomas. Father Thomas, this is Pete." He gestured between them with his hands. "He helps us sometimes, supplies us with crosses and holy water and stuff like that."
Thomas moved closer towards Pete, who had a strange instinct to back away but stayed with his feet planted firmly in the spot. Thomas held his hand out to shake it. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Pete."
Pete hesitated for a while before finally accepting the offer and shaking back; the grip was firm, something Pete didn't exactly like about it. "Are you also a vampire hunter?" he asked, his voice coming out quietly.
Thomas chuckled. "Me? No. That's what these guys are for." He motioned towards Patrick and Andy. "I'm more of a....expert."
"Expert?" Pete repeated.
He chucked again. "Yes. Anyway, Patrick has told me quite a lot about you-"
"He has?" Said Pete and shot Patrick a very irritated look, to which Patrick just shrugged in return. Andy snorted.
"Yes he has. He told me about the vampire clan who want you too. I've heard of them before, they call themselves the Dandies. I believe their leader is called William, correct?"
"Yes," replied Pete. "He told me that he has a large influence in the community..."
"He does." Said Thomas. "He's a very powerful vampire, no doubt about that." He paused. "Patrick also told me that you want to keep your bloodlust under control?"
Pete nodded.
Thomas smiled- it looked quite friendly but Pete still felt quite uneasy. "Well, that's why I'm here." He put his hand on Pete's back and led him towards a small chair in the centre of the room and turned towards Patrick. "Have you got any rope?"
Rope? Pete thought alarmed. He looked towards Patrick as if to say: are you sure about this? To which Patrick sent him a look back that seemed to say: trust me.
