The glass from the window shattered inwards and sprayed into the warehouse, falling to the floor like heavy raindrops. Although they were not close enough to be hit by the shards, Patrick, Andy and Pete all jumped backwards on instinct as far as they could away from the dangerous shards but also from the shock of the blast that caused the glass to break. Pete covered his ears with his hands; his sensitive vampire hearing made the single blast sound like a minefield making his ears ring and his head feel like it was about to explode- his grit his teeth together and squinted his eyes shut in an attempt to block out the throbbing in his head. Joe was closest to the window but instead of trying to dodge out of the way, he crouched down and put his arms over his head in a protective stance as the tiny shards of glass rained down on him, some cutting into his skin slightly and some bouncing off and falling to the floor.

After a few seconds of stillness, Pete opened his eyes and cautiously turned towards Joe and the smashed window- The glass had stopped falling but as soon as Joe hesitantly began to sit back up, a dark figure launched itself through the hole in the glass and landed on top of Joe, who let out a sudden cry before both of them fell to the glass covered floor as Pete heard Andy shout Joe’s name. Joe coughed before rolling over onto his back but before he could make any move to sit up, the figure had hold of him and had pinned both of Joe’s arms and legs to the floor under its weight. Joe tried to thrash around and escape from the figures grasp but nothing was working.

It was then that Pete noticed a glint of sharp fangs as the figure on top of Joe turned its head and towards him. He was a vampire.

And just like that, more vampires began to crawl into the warehouse through the hole in the window.

As more and more vampires began to come through the widow, Pete saw there was at least ten to fifteen of them that split up into three groups, each advancing on the remaining two hunters and Pete himself; a group of about five vampires lunged towards Pete from both sides- he punched the vampire to his right before running towards the stone wall, one of the vampires following him, and used the wall to help push his body off and kick out at the vampire coming towards him. He kicked the other vampire in the face, sending it falling backwards with blood spouting from it’s nose  and was about to reach out and break it’s neck when two more vampires stopped him in his tracks.

Meanwhile, Patrick was being overpowered by another small group of vampires and was surrounded, Patrick's back pressed up against the door that lead down the stairs; Pete saw as Patrick tried to look for an escape route as one vampire sprung towards him- Patrick reached up behind him, jumped and grabbed the top of the door and pushed his body outwards to kick the advancing vampire away. Instead of trying to fight the others off however, Patrick tried to run past them towards Joe from the gap that one of the vampires had made but didn’t get very far before another vampire grabbed hold of Patrick’s jacket from behind and threw him against the wall, Patrick exclaiming in pain before slumping towards the floor- he’s not dead, Pete noticed thankfully but before Patrick managed to recover, three vampires had hauled him off the floor and had a tight grip on him, enabling him to get free.

Pete also noticed Andy was also struggling to deal with his own group of attacking vampires; he lashed out with his knife in his hand in a slicing arc across a blonde haired female vampires’ throat, sending her stumbling backwards choking on her own blood as it gushed from her throat. Andy prepared to step forward when another vampire grabbed him from behind and wrapped its hands around Andy’s neck- Andy gasped for breath while raising the knife in his had and stabbed the vampire’s hand, causing the vampire to let go, screaming in pain. As soon as Andy raised knife about to deliver a killing blow when a broad vampire jumped up behind him, grabbed Andy’s arm and twisted it- not enough to shatter the bones in his arm but just enough to make Andy cry out in pain and drop the knife from his hand. The broad vampire flashed a sinister smile before kicking Andy’s legs out from underneath him, forcing him to the ground on his knees where he was held there by about three other vampires.
