*1 year hiatus later lol* I mean what? I know how to write consistently and update regularly?
Days faded into weeks and before I knew it two weeks had passed since Greyson's funeral. The pain had greatly subdued from the loss, and the upcoming ball greatly excited me. The day before, two new guests came to the inn. It was a newlywed couple named Theresa and Oliver, also known as Olly. They were a sweet and funny couple who lived in northern Wallonica. In the one day I had known them, I had become rather fond of them. Olly was very charismatic and constantly cracked jokes and Theresa had a laugh that made everyone else laugh too. They were staying in the inn for their honeymoon and decided to come to the town dance along with Kristopher and I.
In the past week, Kristopher and I had decided to build a house together and had begun to prepare for it. His job with the carpenter was going well and I found that he was rather good with wood. Kristopher had actually bought the land for our house from the carpenter for a steal of a deal.
"Good morning!" chirped Theresa with liveliness as she walked into the kitchen. She was definitely a morning person.
"Hey," I replied with enthusiasm, "You hungry?" I was busy at the stove making scrambled eggs for us all.
She walked over to see what I was making and, after a large sniff, nodded her head excitedly. I chuckled and told her to go get everyone else for breakfast. Lilliana was out at the market this morning so it would just be Theresa, Olly, Kristopher, and I.
They all walked in a few minutes later, Olly and Kristopher already chattering excitedly. Their grins grew as they all saw me, but their voices lowered. They sat at the table and leaned in to continue whispering. I came over with the food and the hushed conversation stopped.
"Oh hey, Cindy," Kristopher said as if they hadn't been whispering just moments ago.
"Don't 'Oh hey' me," I said in a suspicious and joking tone, "What are you all whispering about that I was not made a part of?" He shrugged in response, a grin plastered on his face.
I raised an eyebrow in question and turned to dish out some eggs silently to Olly and Theresa. They whispered thank yous as I glared silently at Kristopher. I could tell that they were holding back chuckles at my silent treatment. I scooped some eggs for myself and set the pan on the oven. I returned to the table to eat and barely held my stern look. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kristopher hang his head and pout his lip out as dramatically as he possibly could. Snickers escaped from Theresa and Olly and I turned my head to Kristopher who was pouting and making sad eyes at me.
I feigned shock and said, "Wait, did you want to eat too, Kristopher?" His pout immediately turned into happy pleading and he nodded vigorously. "Well that's too bad," I said sassily, and his pout returned. I grabbed the pan again and brought it back to the table. I moved the remaining eggs around in the pan, sending wafts of steam and eggy scents directly at Kristopher's face.
"Would anyone else want the last of the eggs?" I asked sweetly. Olly and Theresa didn't say anything but chuckled behind their hands, clearly enjoying the show.
Kristopher raised his hand like a schoolboy and said excitedly, "Me! Me, me, me!"
I turned to him and said, "I suppose since neither Olly nor Theresa wants them you could have some," He clapped his hands excitedly and I finished, "as soon as you tell me what you were talking about." Kristopher rolled his eyes and contemplated what to tell me.
"Well," he began, "Olly and I were discussing the dance tonight."
I raised an interrogatory eyebrow, "And...?"
